The hotel and staff were exceptional. We enjoyed lovely walks every morning and cannot recommend it more. The lack of privacy in the bathroom is however something else…. As everything in Dullstroom closes at 17:00, we were a bit disappointed at the quality of food served at the hotel for dinner. A bit more imagination and thought would go a long way in not only getting your guests to eat in at the hotel, but also attract other diners. We overall had a wonderful stay and will be back
I spent 2 nights at Dunkeld East and 2 nights Dunkeld estate, the first two nights at Dunkeld east where incredible, the property is calm and has a intimate atmosphere, there’s a sense of serenity, I took a run through the property which was breathtaking, the rooms are spacious and cozy and the fire place is great for keeping warm in the winter. The main lobby was great for drinking wine and just relaxing with incredible views of the lake. Special mention to Marie Anne and Micheal in management who made the stay so much more valuable
The rooms are really comfortable and with a great view of the lake. The restaurant lacks vegetarian options- not a single one for dinner. We had some issues with the room being ready on time and found the 4pm check-in rather late and unusual. Staff were friendly helpful and kind. Not set up for young kids.
