amazing and staff are outstanding. Also, the location is excellent and close to everything within walking distance. The rooms size are big and bed is so comfortable and clean. The only con is that the room carpet is old and overused. They must renew it.

The hotel is ideally located in the city. It only takes a few minutes on foot to get to the city centre. I spent one night in the hotel and had breakfast in the morning. The staff were friendly and there were gluten free options. The food was good and the breakfast area was nice. Unfortunately I was disappointed by the state of our room. There were questionable stains on the floor and walls. A used handkerchief had been left on the floor. The bathroom was dirty. There was rust and mould. The cleanliness of the place was unsatisfactory. Finally, the bedroom windows were very thin and all the noise from the city came through.

The location, exterior is fantastic, staff is friendly and tries to accommodate special inquiries. Unfortunately that is a I could say about this run down place. It oozes neglect from every pore, there is no attention to detail whatsoever and it feels like it has been a long time since anyone put some real thought into making this place feel... I don't know? Anything? It doesn't feel comfy, modern, traditional, extravagant, eccentric... Just like a place to crash, a faceless hostel without any personality. As someone else mentioned, dirty laundry is stored right next to the reception. The reception is in a really weird place, there is no lounge, no outside seating area, the bar is an absolute joke. The room was also very plain, the minibar and was kind of chucked into a wardrobe. The furniture and sanitations were really old and the tab nearly fell apart. The bed was not as stated a French mattress but consisted of two mattresses, one old and one new, leading to a considerable difference in height. I've almost never seen a place so lacking of thought and love to make the customer feel comfortable. Also it was really dirty, dead spiders and insects in the window sills in abundance. Breakfast is generally lauded in the reviews, something I can't agree on. Scrambled eggs were incredibly tasteless, the order of bacon consisted of ONE slice of bacon. I really disliked the order policy for warm choices and would have much preferred a proper buffet. Other places for half the price offer 5x the selection (there was seriuolsy a small plate with two cheeses and a plate with salami and ham and that's it for savory options. No vegetables, no sauces nothing). Sorry to say, but for the astronomical price (600 euros for two people for one night), I expected much, much more! Next time we stay at a hostel, at least those have character most of the times and invest the money in proper English breakfast. Cannot recommend.
