Dunster Castle Hotel

Loved the hotel great support and kindness for our son Noah. Brilliant breakfast with amazing scrambled egg

The breakfast was great and the owners were kind enough to let us store our bikes in their shed. The room unfortunately was not to our liking — the mattress seemed very worn down and uncomfortable and there was an unpleasant smell in the room. When mentioned to the owner, we sadly weren't compensated.

Run by John and Lisa a very friendly husband and wife team. They were very attentive, and very quickly remembered our personal preferences. We had a twin room facing the street, very tastefully decorated with a window seat. There was even a welcome sherry available in a decanter, and some homemade cookies. However, we found the noise form the street to be disturbing, especially as there were traffic lights right outside the room, and some very noisy motorbikes! Do check, as some of the premium rooms face the street. They only serve dinner on 2 evenings, so do check. We booked in for Sunday dinner, the roasts were superb and the homemade stuffing was an absolute hammer ! High quality breakfast with a wide range of freshly-served dishes; the fresh fruit salad was a work of art. They even have homemade jam on offer A word of wring there is a very narrow entrance to the car park. The hotel is an old coaching inn, so the passageway is coach width! Our proximity warners were going off throughout the passage. Check the width of your vehicle before you attempt the transit!
