Review: 5/5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ We had lunch on Valentine’s Day and breakfast on a Sunday morning at Dunstone Estate, and both experiences were fantastic. The service was excellent, and the staff was incredibly friendly. The food was delicious, with plenty of options, even for us as people who don’t eat meat but occasionally eat fish. The salmon during lunch was perfectly cooked and tasted amazing. Everything we tried was made with care and quality. We also took home a bottle of red wine, beautifully packaged. We’re saving it for a special occasion as a reminder of our wonderful time at Dunstone Estate. If we’re ever in the area again, we’ll definitely return. Highly recommended!
The pictures don’t do this gorgeous place justice. The owners and staff are incredibly courteous and accommodating. It’s a short stroll through the vineyard to the bistro where you can enjoy some excellent food and beautiful art. Would 100% recommend - and do book directly with them! Thank you for a lovely stay 🤩
We were attending as wedding guests on 22 March 2025. Though the invitation stated Tanglewood luxury country estate,we were directed to Dunstone luxury estate which took quite a few cars on a narrow gravel road. It was raining and the road was not easy to navigate. We found out the function was at the bistro so we filed out in a long single row down the same road. The bistro was just a short drive further up the road. On our arrival we saw the setup for the wedding, with all it's decor. was soaking wet . It had been raining for a while in Wellington by the time we arrived. There was no hostess to meet us. The wedding party was late due to unforseen circumstances. Ceremony was in Cape Town. The starters were uncovered and there were flies on the cooked meat. The guests were unsure what to do but quickly collected the wet chairs, tables, etc and carried it over to the covered stoep area.Wet glasses were placed on the table by one lady( kitchen staff) because it stood in crates in the rain. There were no cloths or serviettes to dry the wet furniture or glasses with. The guests were extremely helpful sorting out this fiasco. The one lady that was there was scrambling around because the other workers had left. When the hostess finally arrived and was asked about this screw-up,she was very defensive, arrogant and abrupt. No apologies were given. However, it was a lovely setting from the stoep area, we enjoyed our meal and the bridal couple had a joyous send off. But will I ever recommend Tanglewood/Dunstone Luxury estate to host an event as Special as a wedding? You, the reader decide.
