Dutch Manor Antique Hotel

If you love unique, historic city accommodation, you will surely appreciate this place. The interior is truly magnificent, full of historic splendour, and the vision of the owners has translated into a very special hotel. Akkie leads a smooth operation and gave the warmest and most personable welcome I have had for quite some time; he is evidently an effective manager who takes such pride in the work undertaken. The same can be said for Frank, who looks after the logistics, and its great to see such fine teamwork in action. You leave this place personally passionate for the business that has been built and struck by the vision they have brought to this historic building, and I wish the management every success. I was here on a business trip and found the place ideal. Especially good for remote workers as many places in the communal areas lend themselves well to computer work. Definitely recommended for anyone passing through Cape Town, or looking for a convenient and central base.

Now called Dutch Mahal, this 5 day stay was truely a wonderful experience that would not be possible without the amazing staff. Shout out to Akkie and Frank. Their warm approach and care made us feel safe and at home. The beautiful spacious rooms were super comfortable. Location is central which made getting around the city very easy. All I can say I would stay in this hidden gem again.

This hotel was fair for an overnight stay, with a beautiful room and central location in Cape Town. My experience in terms of service however was quite disappointing. I arrived in the evening (7:30) and the staff on duty made me wait outside the hotel while they checked my booking, which set the whole experience off to an unwelcoming tone. However, the room and bathroom was clean and spacious, and the historic atmosphere is palpable.
