As expected the Duxton provided amazing service and the room was expected, very quiet and superbly made up. Alex made us feel very welcome when we initially arrived and it was appreciated. Will stay at the Duxton again as great value and service.

Only let down was an absolutely awful breakfast. The rest was great. Great staff. Quiet location. Great views. We have stayed before but after the breakfast experience we will just do a bit of reviewing. Returned after day with my wife decided to have dinner in the restaurant. Well thankyou duxton it was amazing and makes me feel breakfast was just a 1 off. Staff and meal where above and beyond. Day 2 Again ordered breakfast in room still waiting 55 minutes after order. Rang reception to be put through to restaurant and told yes we have just got it and putting it together. Staff are fantastic but there's a problem here. Well another great staff member very polite but like yesterday's room service when my wife's order didn't turn up period. To this morning it's very below average again. The only reason we didn't go out is my wife had a surgery yesterday and is still sore. So its why we chose the duxton due to its high standards. Wife finished up couldn't eat breakfast. That's it my wife has decided to ring front desk and tell them to take it back. We are not fragile in anyway but even McDonald's which we dislike would have been a better option. Fruit ok. This is not staff related as the staff are extremely professional. Afternoon of 2nd day. Absolutely bad breakfast. So thinking ok let's look at hi tea as I've never been to one. Nah nope nada I am supposed to give half a days notice. Rang reception again and beginning to sound like a serial whinger. Nice polite girl offered to put me through to restaurant, I'd just spoke with them. I have informed them we couldn't see any information on half a days notice. That was the last straw to a very comfortable and tidy place with great staff but Absolutely failure in the breakfast meal department. Then noticed our bill charged for breakfast today when we cancelled after yesterday's mess. Another thing to try sort. Then find I've been charged for a coffee I didn't have. Got to be a bad joke. I don't think I would bother coming back. We must have just had a bad week. Final departure. Breakfast was refunded.
