Had a lovely lunch. Fish and chips to die for. Nice pleasant staff. A little pricey but you get what you pay for. Could do with a lighter lunch menu for those who just want a light meal at a reasonable price for lunch. They charge you a 10% service charge which they tell you when you are paying your bill. However they do say they would take it off the bill if you’re not happy to pay. But food, service and pleasant views it was worth it. Would highly recommend.
Amazing pub - food was excellent. We came here en masse (a group of 12) because another restaurant booking had fallen through so I called Eagle and Child in a panic to try and get us all in. They were super accommodating and made us feel so welcome. The food was all tasty and hot and seemed really fresh especially the pies! The manager on that day and the waitress were also excellent and helped us make sure everyone got fed in good time. look forward to going back soon - its the perfect pub to end a ramsbottom walk.
Went for lunch. Booked in advance and got a lovely table in the conservatory window. 2 meals. Smashed steak burger with fries, very tasty. Fish and chips, good fish, but unfortunately, the chips were very tough, having been double fried and/or reheated, service staff efficiently delt with it and replaced them with fries. The mushy peas portion was poor. It was the same size as the tartar sauce, in a 2-inch diameter pot. Overall good, excellent and efficient staff and a great location. Fish and chips were a bit pricey at £18.00 for what you got, and the burger was £17.50. Should both be around £3 less. Would return but wouldn't get the fish and chips again.
