Lovely experience in this hotel. It was run by people who clearly cared about customer service. Good banter with the bar man. Very customer focused. Rooms were nice and clean and well set up but be prepared for steep stairs in higher rooms. Great options of room layout which is great for different party types / families. Good bar, good food.

I stayed at this hotel, which was booked by my daughter, and on entering the place, I was a little dubious. It looked run down. However, I was shown the room, and it was spotlessly clean and comfortable for a short stay. The staff were helpful and friendly, making my stay a great experience. I'd stay again no problem.

Very quick check in and a friendly welcome. Hotel is a stunning building but the public areas really need a good clean and refurbishment, particularly the stairs/hall carpet which is really dirty. The room was a family en suite, which was decorated lovely, the bathroom was fairy new and very spacious. The toilet however wasn't clean - despite having a 'sanitised' sticker on it, the toilet seat itself was very dirty. The mirror in the bathroom had lots of toothpaste marks around it's ornate frame. The lighting was very poor in the bathroom and no hot water available for a shower in the evening or in the morning. Kettle could do with a good clean as well. Bed really comfy, clean and good pillows. Breakfast service was good, vegetarian options for breakfast were tasty and good sized pot of coffee. Could perhaps do with some fruit or yoghurt, pastries etc. It could be so great if someone invested in cleaning and refurbishment - the staff were all friendly and the service was good. The rooms are actually so nice they just need to be cleaned thoroughly and it would be wonderful.
