The Eaton is a wonderful hotel to stay while visiting DC. The rooms are clean, comfortable, and relaxing and the location is great for getting around the city—especially by transit. I love how the hotel bars have such a vibrant night life, and that you can’t hear a thing in your room when you’re ready to call it a night. A huge thanks to Simone at the front desk for always being a bright light and for being so welcoming and joyful!

I cannot express how wonderful this property is. Every inch is thoughtfully designed and decorated. You can feel the humanity and connectedness of the mission of this company. It's a perfect spot for downtown DC. There's a wonderful restaurant/bar and a bakery/cafe. Plus, a rooftop bar (I did not visit this amenity tho) The room felt like I was visiting a family home thats so inviting, cozy, clean, and rich in all the unexpected ways. The staff is so incredible and kind in a genuine way. It feels like they really enjoy being here and providing hospitality. I feel like I made a bunch of new friends. I will be telling everyone I know to stay here.

Disappointed by hidden fees. We booked Eaton DC primarily for its proximity to the Convention Center, which was very convenient. I paid in full in advance, booking through Orbitz, thinking everything was squared away. But a month after our stay, I was surprised to find an additional "resort fee" of 35$/night, charged to my card. At no point during booking or check-in was this fee clearly disclosed — and certainly not after paying in full. When I called to find out what the fee was for, the person at the desk informed me this was for the amenities. I explained no one informed me that there even were amenities besides the room where I stayed. The person explained it was in an email that was sent to confirm the booking. Of course I paid, but this feels like a bait-and-switch tactic: lure guests in with one price, then tack on surprise charges later. It’s misleading and disappointing, especially from a hotel that brands itself as progressive and guest-focused. The hotel itself was fine, but the lack of transparency around billing left a bad taste. If you’re considering staying here, be warned: what you see at booking may not be what you actually pay.
