Eight Cortina

I cannot recommend Hotel Europa enough! The amazing view, the comfy linens, the food, and every last detail has been thought of and perfectly executed. It is centrally located in Cortina and near all the most amazing hikes. Daniele gave us amazing recommendations for things nearby, and all the staff was so accommodating and lovely. There is no better way to start your day than with the breakfast buffet, filled with local finds and ingredients, and if Massimo is working you know you will leave full and smiling. We looked forward to seeing him every day and the level of service was beyond (people like him make stays so memorable)! I was also working at points and appreciated the great wifi. We are excited to return for skiing!

Imagine booking a luxury vacation only to arrive at a toxic construction zone—staff scrambling, inoperable bathrooms, and zero amenities. This is Eight Cortina. Avoid this hotel at all costs. My nightmare experience began on Christmas Day, just 9 hours before check-in, when I received an auto-generated email informing me that the hotel would not be ready. No personal apology, no offer to help—just an impersonal email, ruining what should have been a joyous holiday. When I arrived on December 26th, the hotel was completely uninhabitable. The lobby was a chaotic construction site, with toxic fumes, inoperable bathrooms, and no available amenities. The property was far from ready to host paying guests, yet none of this was disclosed at the time of booking. The hotel’s false advertising completely misrepresented the experience. Forced to scramble, I had to book alternative accommodations at the last minute for my group. To make matters worse, we also missed prepaid ski lessons and rentals due to the chaos caused by their negligence. The management’s response to this disaster was disgraceful. Their “apology” consisted of a laughable 500-euro voucher (only valid at their sister properties, subject to availability) and free entry to their “VIP Club.” When I refused, they doubled down with another insulting offer: a two-night stay at one of their properties in 2025. The lack of accountability, customer service, and basic decency from Hotel Europa is shocking. I have photos and videos documenting the hazardous conditions and blatant misrepresentation of their services. This hotel operates with a complete disregard for its guests and their safety, and their actions likely violate consumer protection laws and basic hospitality standards. My Advice: If you value your time, money, and sanity, stay far away from Hotel Europa. There are countless other hotels that respect their guests and deliver on their promises. Don’t let this place ruin your vacation like it did mine. Travelers, beware.
