Not quite five stars. The rooms were large and nicely decorated. We had a beautiful room with a king bed, two bathrooms and a sitting room with a fantastic view. It is an easy few minute walk to downtown and there are many great restaurants nearby, including Antonias just upstairs. So, why not five? The noise from who knows what all night long, which sounded like a large door slamming every 15 minutes from 3 am on. Also the sound of chairs screeching on the floor above is most of the evening. As nice as the room is, a small fridge to keep water and drinks cool would be welcome. Instead, one must walk into town and buy a bag of ice. Also, breakfast is no longer included as mentioned in prior reviews. They do offer coffee in the morning, however. Not a bad choice, just bring earplugs.
I had a lovely junior suite, with a beautiful king size bed and sitting room. The bathroom was large, but the shower had very poor water pressure. The water took a long time to warm up. There was a jacuzzi tub but I didn’t try it. They say they have a pool, but they don’t and staff said they haven’t for 9 years! I was disappointed. They also say they haven’t for breakfast, but they don’t. Reception staff were not very helpful. The elevator to the rooftop restaurant/bar sometimes worked, but sometimes didn’t. The cleaning staff was excellent and very friendly.
We stayed as a family of four. The hotel offers an excellent view, which was one of the highlights of our stay. However, the overall service and amenities did not meet the expectations of a four-star property. During our stay, there was no hot water available, and although we informed the front desk, the issue was not resolved before our checkout. Since the location is right beside downtown area, you have to be mindful that it’s extremely loud on the side street. The suite included a few bottles of water, but there was no mini fridge or electric kettle. While the view and on-site restaurant are worth a visit, staying elsewhere might offer better value for the price.
