El Questro Emma Gorge

Only went there to do the walk into the gorge. Looked very pleasant though. Sat at picnic tables after doing the gorge walk & had our brought lunch which was very pleasant on a big grassy area under the shade of a number of big trees. Toilets are also available

We stayed here for two nights on our Outback Spirit bus trip. The glamping tents are fine but why the bathroom walls only go so high. No one needs to hear their loved one’s ablutions on a regular basis. One working washing machine and drier costing $12 total per cycle between potentially 200 people seriously. We have just come off the Gibb River Road covered in dust, and rather than enjoy the ambiance of this beautiful location we are queued up until midnight to use the washing machine. The only other gripe was the raw fried eggs for breakfast and putting them on cold plates. We stayed in lots of places and this was the worst in our 15 day experience and yet this was promoted as one of the most luxurious. We were envious of all the campers out at El Questro with numerous washing machines located through out the park.

Excluding El Questro homestead the best place to stay around here. Good rooms and pleasant common areas. Food pretty decent. They have a somewhat dated swimming pool which has a really weird steeply sloping design and rough concrete surface. But the pool area overall is appealing on a hot day. Most fun was the 'pet' dingo that was in residence a lot. I'd definitely stay here again.
