I am told this is 5 star quality for a Bolivian hotel. If you are travelling from a different country you might think otherwise. That being said, the hotel is clean and has great views with a great outdoor area and pool. There is a restaurant and bar located on site. Lots of space for kids to play. There is wifi available, surprisingly better service outside than in the room. The rooms are a bit old looking and outdated but they are clean and maintained. I wish i could stay here for longer it is a bit like paradise… about a 10 min drive to Coroico. Friendly dogs and cats around the property.
We came here in 2023 and had a wonderful time, and were excited to come back now in 2025. Unfortunately this was quite the deception. Attentive staff has been replaced by a jaded receptionist who spends his time on his phone and sulkily heeded our few simple requests. The food was the highlight of our previous stay. This time around we were served the smallest of milanesas, which tasted foul and we couldn't finish. The menu had ice cream for dessert, but there was none. There was only "mousse" that in reality was a frozen piece of something that even our daughter — who normally devours anything — wouldn't eat. A real shame that they fell off like this, especially since these are easy things to get right. It's an otherwise fine hotel. Simple but cheap, clean, with a beautiful view of the outstretched valley, and nicely isolated from the bustling town.
This is not a 5 star hotel. Maybe it was in 1975. The hotel is outdated and poorly maintained. The light fixtures hang out of the ceiling. The towels and sheets that are supposed to be clean are stained. That’s just the appearance. The more concerning items are: 1. We got locked inside our room. Yes, locked inside! Thankfully one of us was still outside and was able to go and get maintenance. There is no phone in the room and the wifi doesn’t work so we would have had to result to screaming. 2. There is no wifi. If a hotel wants to be off the grid that’s fine, but advertise that. You can’t claim to have wifi and then not have it. Folks expect it. 3. There is no water in the rooms. Three times we had to alert the front desk. Only once it was turned on. It made it super challenging with kids not being able to wash faces, brush teeth, flush the toilet, let alone shower. 4. We were not allowed to use the pool or the game tables the evening we were there because they had reserved it for romantic dinners. No one shared that information with us when we booked or checked in. Instead we walked with our kids down to hang out, to find a very drunk man in the pool with a woman and lots of bottles, and told by staff we had to leave. We came to enjoy with our family and instead had to stay in our room. We contacted the manager and received no response. The staff on site just said they were sorry. For 880 bolivianos for one night I expected a lot more. Or at least the bare minimum like running water and access to the pool. Beware if you choose to stay here.
