Excellent breakfast and staff, especially Bastion. Room a little tired, some lights not working and slightly worn flooring and chairs. Had to ask for shampoo as dispenser was empty and broken. Room milk sachets not replenished. We booked late and told the dining room was full but then on checking out we were asked why we hadn't used the restaurant! Anyway, great location and restaurant seems excellent.

A very special place indeed, had a great time. So why 4 stars rather than 5? Because there should be no "but" in a place like this and there are a few annoying things. But first, the good things: - The bedroom is stunning, with a big and very comfortable bed, a jacuzzi batch, Italian shower, mini-bar, and especially the private terrace, just superb. - The whole venue is clean, tidy and looks the part - The staff is efficient and nothing is too much trouble for them - The location is also wonderful, very near a sandy beach - The gastronomic restaurant lived up to its name, we had a superb meal there So what was less than perfect? - The breakfast: it's perfunctory, like the most ordinary of airport hotels, the coffee is just weak filter coffee and the choice of breakfast foods is underwhelming - The restaurant/breakfast bar is part of another complex, across the road. Who wants to cross a road to have breakfast? - The pool was "temporarily closed" for our entire stay. Admittedly we were able to use the pool in the other complex across the road, but that's not the same - In fact, apart from reception, all the amenities are "across the road", which is not what you want in a luxury break Conclusion: It's still a great place and we'll definitely be going back, even though it means going across the road!
