Eleonas

The best holiday I’ve ever had, I think. Manolis and his team have created something really special here — a warm, peaceful environment that’s hard to leave. The rooms are spacious and beautifully finished. I recommend booking one with a private pool, but the shared pools are also lovely and never too crowded. At the heart of the village is the taverna, where the hardworking staff serve up a wide range of traditional Cretan dishes. The half-board option is buffet-style, though à la carte is available too. There’s something for everyone — including plenty of choices for vegetarians and anyone with dietary needs. And a special mention for the free raki, which is dangerously easy to enjoy. Eleonas isn’t a five-star, ten-storey resort on the seafront — and it doesn’t try to be. After staying here, you probably won’t want to go back to that kind of place anyway. My only regret is that Eleonas has ruined all other hotels for me.

Perfect place to relax, for both adults and kids. We stayed a week as a family of 4. The cottage we had was enormous with really comfy beds and stayed nice and cool during the day. Pools and gardens were really nice and the general location in the countryside is so peaceful. The highlight was undoubtedly the food which was brilliant. Big thanks to Manolis for his hospitality! We’ll be back

The owner of the place is really welcoming. We arrived at 1 a.m. with my grandparents, and he patiently waited for us to show us the place and even helped us carry our suitcases to the room. The food, both breakfast and dinner, was truly excellent. I had a wonderful stay—thank you very much!
