I could literally write for hours as to why Elephants Crossing and its sister lodge Zebras Crossing are incredible places to visit. From the excitement of the game drives to the impressive vistas. From the amazing animals, to the wonderful array of food. From a team who make you feel relaxed and welcomed instantly into lodges that feel like you’re home. I ran with giraffes and Impala at Zebras crossing where you can walk around freely. At elephants crossing we watched in awe as a leopard walked by the jeep not 10 feet away only to be stunned the next day when a lion did the same! We were extremely lucky to see all the big five and much much more. I don’t think we could ever beat the late night encounter with a herd of elephants who came through our lodges to drink from our plunge pool. A truly magical night. When I saw other peoples pictures of that I never dreamed it would happen to us. Just book it and you’ll see what an incredible experience these places offer.
This accommodation has everything! From the best views to the best games drives but most important an amazing team whom made our stay even more fantastic. Every member made sure our needs were fulfilled and the food was delicious. Definitely coming back and would recommend this to everyone who’s looking for an amazing safari experience in the Welgevonden Game Reserve.
I recently stayed at Elephants Crossing for three nights and loved every minute of it! The lodge truly immerses you in the beauty of the African wilderness. The food was fantastic – each meal felt like a treat, with delicious flavors and variety. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, making sure every detail of my stay was perfect. The game drives were a highlight, offering amazing sightings and knowledgeable guides who made every drive exciting and informative. A special moment was when elephants came up to drink from my tents splash pool, bringing the wildlife experience right to my doorstep. I couldn’t have asked for a more unforgettable getaway! Will be back soon!
