We dined in as a large group of 10, including kids, and absolutely enjoyed everything about the experience. The service was amazing, the food was delicious, and the wine was excellent. We loved the ambiance — warm, welcoming, and thoughtfully set up. The table was ready with activity books for the kids when we arrived, which was such a lovely touch. Everything was so well thought out. A fantastic restaurant and a truly great experience!
The Good: Visited for my daughter’s birthday lunch at the Berkelouw Book Barn and was completely taken aback by how beautiful the vineyard and grounds are — simply stunning. It’s a picture-perfect location that feels like a hidden gem. The estate is dog-friendly, which was a lovely bonus, and the staff were warm, welcoming, and incredibly accommodating. We were even offered a wine tasting, which added a special touch to an already memorable day. Room for Improvement: None from our visit — everything felt seamless and thoughtfully done. Would I Return? Absolutely — for the views, the atmosphere, and the experience. The Verdict: A breathtaking estate with charm, hospitality, and heart. Perfect for a special occasion or a relaxed afternoon among the vines.
recently visited the estate and had a great overall experience. The winery itself is beautiful and offers a relaxing atmosphere. I had the chance to do a wine tasting—most of the wines were quite enjoyable! A small tip for improvement: one of the staff members assisting with the tasting was wearing a bit too much perfume, which did interfere slightly with fully appreciating the aromas of the wines. Since scent plays such a big role in tasting, a more neutral approach would be ideal. We also dined at the Book Barn Restaurant, which was a real highlight. The food was delicious, well-presented, and the service was warm and attentive. All in all, it was a lovely visit. I’d definitely recommend stopping by if you’re in the area.
