Elysia Boutique Hotel

An Unforgettable Stay!! We stayed at Elysia Boutique Hotel for six nights in May 2025 as a family of four, and it was hands down one of the best hotel experiences we've ever had , not just in Crete, but across all of Greece. This brand-new property is located right in the heart of Old Town Chania, making it the perfect base to explore the island. But what truly sets Elysia apart is how much thought and care has gone into every detail. The design is modern and sophisticated, yet effortlessly respects and preserves the Venetian charm of the old town. The architecture and interiors are stunning, bold but warm, elegant but inviting. It’s clear that nothing was overlooked by the designers. And then there’s the service :) absolutely exceptional. The staff went above and beyond for us every single day. all staff were amazing but a special mention to Theodoros (GM), Anna, and Demos, they were unbelievably helpful and accommodating, handling every request with grace and care. From organizing personalized daily itineraries to making sure every moment of our stay was seamless, they delivered a level of service we haven’t even experienced in some of Europe’s top luxury hotels. It felt personal, genuine, and truly thoughtful. We are not big breakfast people but every morning, we looked forward to the incredible breakfast , fresh, delicious, and beautifully presented. It became one of our favourite parts of the day. Elysia Boutique Hotel is a hidden gem that blends contemporary luxury with historical soul and unmatched hospitality. I will return here every time I’m back in Chania.. no question. And I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a refined, boutique experience with world-class service.

My family and I stayed here for all three nights that we were in Chania, and I can't recommend this beautiful hotel enough. We wound up staying in two different rooms, the Deluxe Maisonette Suite for 1 night and the Premium Maisonette Suite with Balcony for 2 nights--everything about the rooms and the hotel in general is of the highest quality and so well-designed and thoughtfully appointed. The service and the wonderful people at Elysia are absolutely wonderful, the location in Old Town is unbeatable, and both breakfast and dinner at Coutellerie are some of the best options in the city. If you are going to Chania, this is where you should stay.

I booked this via booking.com. It looks like a beautiful hotel in a nice location. Unfortunately, despite free cancellation they took payment off my card pretty much as soon as I booked. This was very alarming as they only have 15 reviews and are new on the site and it wasn't cheap. In my 12 years of using Booking.com, I have never experienced anyone take prepayment when it is free cancellation and so early on. A red flag was waving so I cancelled. They refunded £7 less, claiming it's due to euro conversion rate fluctuations. It's not a huge amount, but the principle of it irked me. This is simply not good business (especially for a new hotel waiting to build up trust), nor fair – my price was in pounds. It came out of my bank in pounds. I wasted time only to lose £7. There are lots of other places in Chania that are cheaper and longer established and have better policies. I'm sure it's a clean, nice hotel – but a caution in case you want to be assured you are going to get a full refund – this hotel do not seem to understand.
