Embassy Suites by Hilton Chicago Downtown River North

I’m scratching my head, as I read poor reviews about this hotel… We spent the weekend here and had an absolute blast! From the moment we checked in with Alexis and checked out with Alma (These 2 women are the epitome of stellar customer service!), our experience was PERFECT! Having a valet is super convenient, with the valet staff was very attentive and personable. Our room was the perfect size, clean, and comfortable with a beautiful view. The cleaning staff was very polite and attentive. The hotel location is super convenient to many landmarks, and made exploring the city on foot an absolute blast! We walked a total of 25 miles over 2 1/2 days! We felt that the complementary breakfast and coffee each morning was a great value, as well as, a lovely way to start the day. Even the evening social hour with free beverages was a nice touch😉 We appreciate the Embassy Suites River North and look forward to returning for our next stay in Chicago😀

Location is fantastic. Right next to public transportation, food, coffee, and two grocery stores. We never had enough towels. We booked a suite for six people and only got enough towels for four. Asked while booking the reservation online for a crib and extra sheets for the pullout couch, asked again at check-in. Got the pack n play delivered shortly after. Called down to the front desk 5 hours later to ask for sheets again. Finally had to go to the front desk at 11pm and ask for sheets to be handed to me so my kid could go to bed. We stayed three nights and never got room service. We had to find places to deposit our trash. Completely unreasonable. They offer free breakfast which was fantastic and saved us the hassle of having to search for food in the morning. They offered a happy hour from 5:30-7pm with light refreshments. That is very nice. Hector the bellman was a nice guy and friendly.

Great location. Kitchen staffs were kind and helpful. Rooms were ok. Bathroom and shower was poor, less water pressure and not so great. Receptionists were so rude and not helpful at all. Poor service from them. One star rating is because of them. Valet parking was great and convenient.
