Stayed here for San Diego Comic-Con (which can be a challenging time for hotels) and everything was excellent from the location and amenities to the service. We did have to call for assistance with the room a couple of times, but the staff were extremely responsive and helpful each time. Everything was clean and comfortable, and we would definitely stay again.

The hotel is located in a great area around the Seaport Village with plenty of restaurants and the green trolley runs behind it making it really convenient to get around the city. You can also catch the Old Town Trolley across the street in the shopping center. With all that said, the property reminds of the Embassy Suites I stayed at in the 90s. We booked on Hotel Tonight and ended up with a 2 queens accessible room. The view was wonderful of the bay, but the bed frames were filthy and the setup of the room was a little awkward in the living room. The room didn't have an actual closet, but more of a cabinet for the clothes which is probably because it was an accessible room. The breakfast was okay. Made to order omelets and eggs and the pancakes were pretty, but the batter wasn't that great. Every morning they had sausage and bacon even turkey sausage in the made to order line. You also have other options such oatmeal, cereal and the standard cantaloupe and melon fruit. The happy hour is also nice for a few different cocktails and house wine. The staff was great. We were able to get great recommendations on how to get around and things to see. The manager even offered a gift card to the restaurant for the status of the room. We didn't get to use it because we preferred trying some of the other restaurants around town and only had two nights left. There's a $25 beverage credit that has to be used daily. The first day we used it at the restaurant for lunch. The black bean burger and an order of fries alone used the $25, so we mostly used it in the gift shop for water, snacks and other items. Plus, the food was just okay in the restaurant. I was thinking the $25 destination charge was the same as the food credit, but technically there's a $25 f&b allowance AS WELL AS another $25 destination fee. I think the hotel is good for groups, but wish we would have stuck to the boutique hotel we were originally booking. I think it would have been better for a couple's vacation experience.

My stay was marred by a severe bed bug issue in room 512. In a single night, I was bitten more than 60 times, which resulted in extreme itchiness for the remainder of my week long trip. The numerous bites on my Achilles tendon were particularly frustrating as I had to walk over 18,000 steps each day for the ESRI Users Conference. I brought this issue to the attention of the front desk staff immediately and they moved my wife and I to another room after confirming the live bedbug that I had caught on the bed, they then fumigated and washed all of our cloths, and returned our luggage two days later. In the chaos my motorcycle riders permit was lost and now I have to get another one. My wife was burdened with keeping track of everything as I had to attend the conference. But upon checkout, my experience was met with disinterest, I was hoping for a simple acknowledgment of the ordeal, but this dismissal of my experience was disheartening. Due to the severity of the infestation and the lack of compassion from the front desk, I have filed a formal complaint with San Diego's Code Enforcement Office. I cannot recommend this hotel. With Comic-Con taking place this week, I am concerned that other guests may have a similar experience. I urge the hotel management to revise their hygiene and cleaning protocols.
