Excellent hotel and service. Thank you Kalomoira for your positive energy and friendly attitude.
The location was very good, in fact the hotel was in a residential neighborhood that was very quiet even in the evening. I could easily walk back from the center (with a long walk). With a long walk, it was also possible to reach one of the most interesting museums in the capital, the Bunk'Art 1, very close to the mountains, because the hotel was on the "right" side of the city. The breakfast was good, it included yogurt (0% fat and normal), fruit, chocolate croissants, milk with cereals. For those who like a savory breakfast, there's also this type of breakfast. The room was comfortable, with a nice bathroom with a glass shower and a shower head from above. At the reception there was Mira, really kind and always smiling: she also gave me tourist information and booked a taxi for me to return.
Well, not EVERYTHING is dark. This hotel does have a few things going for it: the Breakfast was very good, the bed comfortable, the service, upon arrival, was definitely fine, it has a blessed no-smoking policy, and the bathroom has a bidet. Hence is why I have granted the place two stars, instead of one. But all these neat advantages pale and disappear, when viewed against that sad hotel extreme disadvantage: its lack of noise protection, as bad as its susceptibility to all kinds of air pollution from the street below. I mean, first, do not locate a hotel at a main street, with balconies "inviting" the guests to sit right upon countless buses, vans, trucks and what-not, polluting the air with their smoke - and, more than anything: IF YOU INSIST UPON PLACING A HOTEL THERE, AT THE VERY LEAST BOTHER TO SOUNDPROOF THE WINDOWS!! I am talking BASICS here, people!! Even with the windows closed shut (had no choice with all the street's nastiness...), I still heard all the unbearable street noise, day and night, as if all windows were wide open! I have never encountered such a phenomenon before, at ANY hotel or guesthouse - NEVER so bad. How can you locate a hotel at a central, main and noisy street, and not provide any sound insolation?? So, in spite having booked, and SADLY also paid, for three nights, already on my first (and only) evening there, I had asked about the possibility of a refund, should I choose to leave earlier than planned. The guy said he'll ask his boss. Already by 23:45, I had decided to leave this hotel in the next morning - I had had ENOUGH. So, the following morning at Breakfast, I had asked the lady about the possibility of a refund - and was denied any. Ho well, I have decided not to cause myself any further suffering, just so I would not feel that I had lost money... שׁיּלך הכּסף לכפּרוֹת. רעבּע גּלד - at least, I have learned my lesson, to stay away from all hotels at Tiranë (no loss there). Within two hours I took off, and shall NEVER visit them again. So, please, for the quality of your Health and rest, DO NOT STAY AT THAT HOTEL.
