Emerald Hotel

Very friendly and helpful staff and the location was perfect, central and near the esplanade, walking distance to the sea and eateries. Rooms spacious and clean, comfortable beds and linen. Very large bathroom also, clean and well serviced. There were pigeons in the pool area but full disclosure I am fond of pigeons and didn’t find this a nuisance.

Loved staying here. The room was awesome, clean, amazingly comfy beds with beautiful clean linen. The pool was a welcome delight with a refresh dip! Lisa and the team are exceptional and only to happy to help!! 5 stars from me and as Arnie said, I'll be back!!

Doesn't seem like this place is ever cleaned. Not sure what they do in the morning when people leave. Inside the room and the whole place was a dark, musty and dirty mess. The floor hasn't been vacuumed, food all inside the microwave, coffee plunger had mess all over it, stains on the beds and floor. This was a very expensive stay and they made out it was a better room because it had a river view. Not sure I would want a room looking out over the pool area though as that was as rough as the rest of the place. For the amount charged, you'd expect to have somewhere to stay that is clean and tidy!
