We stayed in the mid June time frame and what a beautiful place. We did rent from VRBO and we're in 2109. The views were breathtaking and the area is far enough south that there is no issue with the crowds and traffic. The beaches were wonderful white sand. There was some slight algae issues in the Gulf but think this was a time of year issue.

Our condo was perfect. (#1603) It has nicely appointed rooms, it was clean and the seating was plentiful. The appliances are nice and new. Fridge, dishwasher, washer and dryer. The 16th floor is beautiful. If you love TV, then the bedrooms only have local cable, but the main TV in the living room has the better TV service. The only negative (thus my 2 star rating) was the beach service provided by the resort, Emerald Isle. (Not the condo owners fault) I rented this condo specifically because they provided 2 beach chairs and an umbrella as part of the rental. We were flying to PCB, so we wouldn't have our own. The beach service at Emerald Isle is totally unreliable. They only set the chairs out for 2 hours in our 4 day stay! Granted, the weather was spotty showers in the early morning, on Sun/Mon, we could hear thunder in the distance, but it was beautiful by 2pm everyday. Still no chairs. The condos to the left and right had their chairs and umbrellas out every single day, by 7am, no matter the weather! On Tuesday, it was a beautiful morning, they set the chairs out. We sat. An hour or so later a rainy patch comes through for about 10 minutes, by the time we got upstairs it was all clear and we went back down, clear skies and they are pulling the chairs. When I asked why, the guy mumbled "it's the calm before the storm, we're pulling them in." It was BEAUTIFUL the rest of the day. No rain. Barely any clouds. So, just a warning, if you decide to rent in this complex, do not rely on their beach service. Either rent a condo that has its own chairs/beach stuff, bring your own or plan to buy some. Just because a condo says "comes with beach service" doesn't mean you will get that at Emerald Isle. Very frustrating. So many people staying here were in our situation and we're all sitting on our towels trying to make the best of it. I learned a lesson for sure! ** in addition to the blanket response (on all reviews seen from E.I.) that they’re not responsible for pretty much anything- they ARE responsible for the beach service THEY hire to work at their condo! When I spoke to the woman at E.I. asking about the why they weren’t putting out the chairs she immediately knew why- she didn’t have to call & investigate or ask the beach service she said “we aren’t putting out the chairs if it looks like its going to storm, hon.” So, not taking ownership & acknowledging the truth & making it seem like nothing is their responsibility, is their way of handling issues that come up! “It’s not our fault” & placing blame on another party, is their response.

The only pro that I can come up with for this "resort" is the proximity to the beach. Once you get off of the elevator on the ground floor, you are close to the sand. The cons, however, are endless. The room smelled horrible upon arrival. We went and purchased air fresheners. The secondary bathroom did not work; there was no water in the sink, and the toilet would not flush. After messaging the owner, we had a plumber in the room once, maintenance in the room twice, and housekeeping once. The washing machine smelled like a sewer. The shower curtains needed to be replaced as they were covered in mildew. Water barely drains in the showers. The staff at the pool are very rudley strict with the wristbands which are hard plastic and cut you. If I were to sneak into a "resort" pool, this is not the pool I would sneak into as it is not nice. The sauna was not operational and closed. The parking garage is tight and difficult. Edit: To the reply that my review does not apply to the property: The steps to the sky bridge to the parking lot are full of rust and are one fall away from a tetanus shot. The rude employee at the pool was wearing a green resort shirt, the condo owner doesn't control the non-working sauna, the dirty pool, the rude employees, the dirty surfaces in common areas, the construction happening in the condo above ours or so, so much more.
