We’ve been to varies family hotels through south Tirol. Engel just fulfilled all lovely details of being family-friendly. My 4 months baby enjoyed there as comfortable as like home, baby chair and babywagen are top brands which are very secure, therefore we were able to have a peaceful time. My 6 years old daughter loves Happy Club, where a modern designed playroom. It’s not ultra entertained but the value of playing means a lot. Kids made great handworks and enjoyed fantastic quality time. I can’t wait to share my great experience with my followers from other platforms.
It would be 5* but quality of food wasn’t that great let it down a bit and also overpriced for the “room standards”: mini bar was empty and also turned off, tried to call reception around 11pm to order some food but no one picked up, so no food ordered. Rooms are quiet average but nice though. View from our room was spectacular. The best thing we liked was the kindness of the staff from the restaurant and of the chef in the morning who prepared ‘salty crepes’ and explained how to use the juicer (thank you 🙏🏻). The best things were the spa/wellness area, simply loved every inch of it!!!! So modern, high quality and spotless was everything! Also they’re offering dried fruits and nuts and a selection of infusions which we really appreciated.
July 2022: Mixed experience for a holiday we wanted to treat ourselves to after just getting married. The location is gorgeous and the spa facilities are great. My partner and I booked full-board and enjoyed the food. While we were visiting, most of the guests appeared to be families or older couples. I'm not sure if it's because we are not German or the targeted client demographic, but we often did not feel welcome and the attitude towards us felt mixed. At €400+/night, we expected more. Note: The front desk reception were an exception here. They were kind and helpful with requests, and even upgraded our room. The staff in the restaurant, however, were dismissive and impatient. A couple of examples: - We were very much scolded at dinner for not wearing the right footwear, which felt unnecessary. It makes sense to follow a dress code and be given a head’s up that we made a mistake - but the attitude was sharp and off-putting. It’s not nice to be spoken to that way on vacation, especially in an environment promoting holiday relaxation. - At lunch people around us were receiving placemats and utensils from the waitstaff as they sat down. When we enquired, we were instead directed to where we could fetch it ourselves. We don’t mind serving ourselves, of course, especially if that’s the lunch protocol. But it felt like a deliberate snub to see that the waitstaff were blatantly going out of their way to be kind and accommodating to others. We had the 'gala' dinner with several courses. Each course was brought out extremely quickly and felt very rushed. It wasn't a relaxing dinner, especially a multi-course meal. The wine we ordered was not available - which happens - but with no apologies or suggestions of a replacement whatsoever. The attitude was again, brusque and dismissive Our suite was beautifully constructed (I believe it was built in 2021), but didn't have air-conditioning. It was mid-30s in the summer while we were there so this felt like an important detail to be missing from such a luxurious hotel. Understandable though, with climate change that this might not have been designed with air-conditioning in mind.
