Epic Aparthotel Duke Street

Stayed for a couple of nights. Booked two apartments , both were spacious enough , 1 x couple, 3 x adults. rooms were clean, bathrooms were clean and all in good condition. loads of nice towels, beds were really comfy. Kitchen facilities etc were in good shape and well kitted out, handy for snacks and breakfast. Decor is on the dark side and the main room downlighters were not working, so sometimes it was a little dark, all other lighting fixtures operated okay. Location is bang in the middle of the city so access to everywhere was good. Bars and restaurants on your doorstep. If there was anything to improve, would be access to the top floors as there is no lift, so if you struggle (i didn't) then make sure you ask for lower floors. Oh and the chimney stack in the bedroom reverberated with some low level constant noise like an aircon or something that was slightly annoying.

This is the first time I’ve ever left a review! Bought as a present for a night away as it looked lovely on the pics. Please don’t come here if you want a nice place to stay. The hallway was minging with a dirty floors, there was patches of paint and filler on the walls (in the hallway and apartment walls)! Carpets were dirty and it didnt smell like it had been cleaned. There was blood on the pull out bed and the kitchen worktops were chipped. The only good thing was the comfy bed. Not a nice gift to give to someone! I wouldn't spend your money on this.

Overall rating - not fit for purpose!! Pros: - Close to the town centre, everything was in very walkable distance. - Quiet in the day and at night. Cons: - Electronic lock stopped working on our flat door and I was locked out. Tried calling from info we'd been sent and no one picked up 3 times, then texted EPIC via WhatsApp and was told a maintenance guy would come up. Overall, I had to wait half an hour for this guy to come up and replace the batteries on the door - I was told this is a recurring problem with our flat (no.29) !! Very poor communication as no one seemed to know what was going on and I felt very abandoned and frustrated. (Not the maintenance guy's fault at all, but management clearly hadn't passed on the message to him properly) - Flat was generally shabby and worn out. - Where to start with the "kitchen"... Says sleeps up to 4 people but only had enough cutlery for 3, no baking trays or cooking pans, no soap, the skirting boarding fell off every time you opened the dishwasher, there were glasses in the cupboard that looked like they hadn't been washed at all - honestly the list goes on !! - Bad smell coming from the shower drain. - Stains all over the bedsheets including specks of what looked like blood on one area, and some very suspect looking marks. We have been left disappointed with our experience but tried to not let it tarnish our time in Liverpool as we really enjoyed the city itself. Will be back but definitely not using EPIC again. 🙈
