This weekend has been nothing short of incredible! My hubby planned the most amazing birthday surprise and booked us at the stunning Equinox Hotel — and wow, every single detail has been perfection. From the moment we walked in, the customer service was beyond exceptional — warm, attentive, and genuinely thoughtful. The hotel itself is breathtaking, with a sleek and luxurious design that makes you feel instantly relaxed and pampered. Our room is spotless, spacious, and filled with thoughtful touches that make you feel at home but in the most elevated way possible. Every interaction with the staff has been met with genuine smiles and a willingness to go above and beyond. The amenities are top-notch, the atmosphere is serene yet vibrant, and you can tell they truly care about creating an unforgettable guest experience. I can honestly say this has been one of the most memorable birthdays ever — thank you, Equinox Hotel, for making it so special!

Luxury Setting, Middling Value The Spa by Equinox Hotel in Hudson Yards delivers exactly the kind of luxury ambiance you’d expect from its high-end reputation: sleek architecture, calming interiors, and a cordial, professional staff. The spa itself is nestled in a striking hotel, though its view of an industrial patch of NYC does little to enhance the mood. I opted for a non-invasive skincare treatment combining lymphatic drainage, exfoliation, and deep serum infusion via a high-pressure jet stream. While the aesthetician was very friendly and competent, the experience lacked the immersive depth I’ve encountered at comparable (and even more complex) treatments in NYC, elsewhere in the USA and overseas. At ~$450 including gratuity, the price feels steep for a treatment that includes a fairly light-drainage and exfoliation and a face mask and commercially available creams. The session was scheduled for 60 minutes, but the treatment itself didn’t start until after the appointment time. Small details, like the aesthetician’s squeaky shoes, use of gloves at times when touching my face, and the very loud, generator-like buzz of the water jet, disrupted what should have been a serene experience. Time was also lost as the technician repeatedly paused to prepare and put away treatments rather than maintaining flow. The complimentary water and health bars were thoughtful touches, but overall, the treatment felt "fine" rather than exceptional. For a spa of this caliber, I expected a more substance to match the setting—and certainly to justify the price tag.

The room was really nice aside from the sticking bathroom pocket door that was miserable to shut. The room cleaning service was never on schedule and caused us a lot of wasted time and frustration. The location is perfect. I have no complaints there, but don't be fooled by the advertising of the outdoor pool area. I tried for a solid week to use it with no success, and when I complained they did nothing about it. Apparently it's not actually part of the hotel. It's part of the gym in the same building. It is constantly filled to the max with gym members. I was told on multiple occasions that I couldn't even get on the wait list for a chair. If this is how they run it then they should not be advertising the pool as a hotel amenity. It's faults advertising. Overall I had a great room in an amazing area with fabulous doormen and restaurant staff, but disappointments with the pool and cleaning times, and I paid huge for it. I would stay in this area again, just not at this hotel.
