Just finished a short 3-night vacation alone in a single room. Below is my "fresh" review. I'm trying to exclude the information available on their website or booking.com to avoid making it too cumbersome to read. However, I confirm the descriptions available there. LOCATION Strategic: a short walk from the beach and the center, yet in a quiet, low-traffic area. BUILDING Not dated, yet well-renovated and maintained. Refined and stylish features, such as the glass railings near the pool. ROOM My room was well-furnished and welcoming, with a modern style and quality materials. The mattress and pillows were excellent for me. The cleaning and tidying service was excellent. Thanks also to the other guests, I lived and slept in total relaxation. When I arrived, the refrigerator wasn't working, but after I reported it, the technician arrived within a few hours, so I don't consider this a disservice, but rather a demonstration of the prompt and prompt assistance. RESTAURANT A well-stocked breakfast buffet with fresh, high-quality products. Dinner (I had half board). The menu was always different daily, with beautifully presented dishes and, again, fresh ingredients, often regionally sourced. There's no "on-menu" offerings for special needs, such as celiac disease or veganism, but I understand that for a relatively small hotel, this isn't an easy service to manage, especially given the limited number of requests. However, after consulting the owner, simply let us know in advance and the chef can accommodate these needs, subject to the need to serve all the other guests. BEACH Two lounge chairs and an umbrella are included in the price if you book directly with them. Located right at the beach entrance from the access road. SERVICES AND STAFF The services are what a normal person would/should expect from a 4-star hotel. I don't know, as I haven't looked into them, if there are special offers and activities for children. However, the families present, "tailored" to the type of hotel, seemed calm and satisfied. The staff was very friendly and kind, always smiling, always present but not intrusive, and ready to accommodate the guests' requests and needs. I didn't test the Wi-Fi, although it was available, because I used my smartphone's data plan. Fortunately, there was no noisy entertainment that disturbed the relaxing atmosphere I was looking for. SECURITY I'd say adequate. DEFECTS I don't know; I'm a humble and empathetic person, and I didn't find any (we're not perfect at home or at work, either!). I've read a few rare and isolated criticisms online in reviews, but I consider them normal, and I personally haven't experienced the same poor service or inconveniences reported there. High prices? I think they're fairly in line with other 4-star hotels, and in any case, quality comes at a price. It's up to you to decide, depending on your budget, whether it's worth it or not. CONCLUSIONS I don't have much experience with 4-star hotels in Lignano, but I'm confident that the Hotel Suite Erica has all the credentials to be among the best in the area. I highly recommend considering this hotel, and if I return to Lignano for a hotel vacation, I certainly won't change locations.
