Esencial Tulum

I stayed here for a few nights around mid month this month. I was a bit off put when the room wasn’t by the beach when it kind of looked that way, but for the price I kind of knew that. The room was great, clean, a/c was great, staff was helpful and kind. I would absolutely come back, the jungle side, while definitely still being built, is beautiful. I recommend it, especially for 2xx/night.

Friendly service, quiet and on the beach. Not luxury but very clean comfortable Cabañitas. AC available all day. I had a garden view but I was just steps away from the beach where I got to enjoy the sunrise. No restaurant or bar on site but Kitchen Table is right across the street which is a must try restaurant in Tulum Beach. Reasonably priced. Highly recommended !

Secluded and quite place in bungalows setting. A little too rustic and lacking of amenities. I have to ask for ice from the restaurant across the street to drink in the room. Not enough lights, room and porch is a little dark. Faucet in the bathroom is loose. No ice maker available but there is a nice fridge in the room. Outdoor shower is nice but could use some renovation. The door from outdoor shower has a gap and it allows small critters to crawled in I had 2 small crabs wondered I to my room, which I don't mind I simply catch them and release outside for some, that could be an issue There is AC in the room. Beach is beautiful with clear blue water and a lot to explore with rocks nearby. Stroll along the beach and you'll find ample of bars and restaurants, love that part! There are quite a few restaurants within walking distance but all is pricey, granted they all serve amazing food. Restaurants here in Tulum is much more boutique-ish and serve gourmet food with the price like a big city in the USI do like El Tabano across from the hotel, they are one of the most reasonable food price in the area with amazing food, esp their chicken mole!!! Don't expect to pay the price of food you could get in Playa del Carmen. No bar or restaurant at the hotel. You get free breakfast across the street at El Tabano. I wouldn't mind it so much if the price per night is cheaper. But with what I paid, this place is overpriced. My room is partial ocean view room. After a few days staying at this hotel, I do like the location and the style with natural beach landscape. I would come stay again with 2 things: renovation or price drop. So torn! I like this place and it has so much potential! Some of them is an easy fix/upgrade. Wish them all the best!
