Esmeralda Resort Orient Bay

I have been to The Esmeralda over 8 times since 2005 and I am planning to visit again soon. It is one of the most comfortable hotels in the Caribbean I have had the pleasure of staying in. When you first arrive the meeting is warm and welcoming, nothing over the top or spectacular just a nice smile, a pleasant hello and a review of the property. The suites themselves have all you would need to both relax and enjoy as well as do it economically. A comfortable Verandah to stay cool on and a pool right outside your door to jump into when it is hot Breakfast is served in the Astrolabe Restaurant poolside and is delicious, lunch at one of the beach restaurants nice and a special dinner at The Astrolabe Restaurant magnificent! I am missing it more and more as I type this! See you soon Esmeralda!

This was a last-minute trip. The staff was amazing. The manager and Kevin especially. However, my husband is in a wheelchair and we couldn't enjoy the beaches that were close and dining was far. The restaurant that is on the premises was great for dinner, but the service for breakfast was bad. Jerome was extremely rude and disrespectful. Thank you to the manager and Kevin for really trying to help us with all that we had going on. We really appreciate all you did.

Very nice place to get away from crowds and close walk to the beach. It is NOT a JW or Weston as for the modern look but perfectly fits with the Orient Beach area. Plus’s - semi private pool, room is clean, plenty of hot water, nice bed and great a/c. Deck and pool is nice and they have a few passes for beach bars which is nice. Staff are friendly and helpful. The restaurant on-site, Estrolabe is excellent, continental breakfast included is fine, slight up charge is offered for eggs and meats which is reasonable. Dinners are excellent! Cons - wish they had umbrellas at the pool and more chase lounge chairs ( probably not enough room is the issue) and chase lounge chairs on the deck but again, it is a small area. It gets noisy at night with music (loud and not very good) from nearby establishments. The beach bar (Coco Beach) is next to their property, most convenient but this beach bar is out of step with the many other establishments on Orient Beach. Pricing, menu options availability - we went their once, short walk on the beach to other bars more suited and they are great!! Last note: many eating establishments are pushing hard on cash tips, from highlighting it, circling it and outright mentioning it. This is the French side, their services are included in their wages, we verified that. Lots of pressure on US tourist and I noticed no pressure on the French patrons… they know the deal…. Anyway, we will be back….
