Nestled in a prime location with direct access to Lake Sanabria, this magnificent experience is well worth the trip. The service, even without in-person contact, is 100% efficient and always available for any questions. The only thing to keep in mind is that the houses are made of traditional stone and the atmosphere is generally damp...and it shows.

I stayed the night of June 14th-15th in Room 4, for the modest sum of €144. And what can I say… it was an unforgettable experience, although not in a positive sense. As soon as you walk in, the floor gives you a warning that the room is going to be an adventure. It's raised several inches, and when you walk, the furniture literally moves. On the right side of the bed, the difference in level is over 10 cm. In fact, the bedside table should charge an entrance fee for the number of flips it performs to stay upright. Any more and I'll ask for an autograph. The walls and ceilings have obvious chipping marks from moisture. Not one, not two, but multiple. But of course, nothing a couple of brush strokes with your eyes closed can't "fix"… if they ever get bothered. And if that weren't enough, ants. Yes, the little tenants who apparently also booked their stay. And no, they don't sneak in by chance: they're there because the lack of maintenance allows it. The "included" breakfast is a different story. It's not just about the quantity, but the quality and the service provided. There were two yogurts out of the fridge (yes, in the middle of June, with 30 degrees at 8 a.m.) and two sandwiches half-covered with plastic wrap, also outdoors. I just hope the staff has their food handler certificate, because if not, we could be talking about a serious violation under Regulation (EC) No. 852/2004 on food hygiene. All this in an accommodation that boasts of being in a privileged setting, but is nowhere near as good as the place. To top it all off, my partner—who arranged the reservation—was criticized for not reporting these problems, as if it were his responsibility to detect and fix structural deficiencies. Sorry, but guests aren't maintenance inspectors. And no, when you book a specific room, you're not supposed to be tempted to change it for another, or even for a different accommodation "not as close to the lagoon," as was also suggested to us. Cynicism was the only thing missing. In short: you pay for a specific room, in a charming location, and you find yourself with an experience worthy of a study in structural engineering, varied wildlife, and a breakfast with a bacteriological plot twist included. I won't be back. Nor do I recommend it. *RESPONSE TO THE OWNER* First of all, let me correct an important detail: my name is Daniel, not Ainhoa. As I indicated, my partner arranged the reservation, but I'm the one who stayed here and signed the review. A small gesture of attention would have been enough to avoid that basic error. Regarding your response, I don't know what kind of guests you've dealt with, but I haven't complained. I haven't asked for compensation, refunds, or discounts (which, for your peace of mind, I wouldn't accept even if they were offered). I've only shared an honest review of the accommodation I stayed in and paid for. Regarding the "bacteriological" breakfast, as you call it: everything except the sandwiches and pastries we threw away was in the room. It's one thing to live with ants (already serious), and another to have to feed them. And regarding the floor: either they're lying (because they claim to have fixed it when they were notified a day ago and it requires major intervention), or they're shameless for continuing to rent the room in this state. Because if they can really repair a level difference of more than 10 cm in 48 hours and still allow its use, then, honestly, they are incompetent. Finally, I reiterate: I haven't asked for anything. My only intention is to warn other guests about what they might encounter if they stay there, based on my personal experience. Regards, Daniel P.S.: I'm including your original response for the record, so you can review it if you wish. Mistaking the guest's name and responding sarcastically doesn't exactly reflect well on the establishment.

Good afternoon, I'm new here, as this is my first review on a site like this. Normally, if I don't like something, I'm content not to return, but I'm going to tell you about my experience here due to the service I received. I rented a room at Espejo de Soledades from August 4th to 5th. When we entered the room, there were more than 50 flies, cobwebs, the air conditioning wasn't working, and the headboard was hanging off the bed, about to fall off. Obviously, I photographed everything at the same time to avoid future misunderstandings. We spent the day, and when we left, I informed them of our departure and the damage we had found. At that moment, the person who claims to be an employee calls me, asking what we had done to the headboard. She assured me that she had left it in perfect condition when she left the room, implying that we were the ones who had broken it. Luckily, she had photos of the damage with the date and time of our arrival. I didn't mention the other damages or seek a refund; I just wanted to let her know in case they needed to make any repairs. It's true that she offered me alternatives, blaming me for not giving notice at the time so they could relocate us to other apartments they have in Puebla. I didn't give notice at the time because check-in for these apartments is after 5:00 p.m., and we were only staying there for one day. So if she relocates me to Puebla, I'd practically have to go back when we got there. Besides, if I wanted to rent something in Puebla, I would have found it myself, but I had paid for a location and certain features that were far from reality. I've seen more reviews about flies, to which they reply that flies are normal in a rural setting. I'm from a town 30 km from the accommodation, not a tourist passing by by chance. And in my town, flies are kept outside the houses, so if you rent something, you should make sure it meets certain minimum standards. So I'm leaving this here so the next person who comes knows what they might find.
