My father and I just spent some of the most enchanting few days of our lives at Peuma Hue, a place that’s surely as close to heaven on earth as one is likely to find in this lifetime. We came here from Iguazu Falls which we thought would be difficult to top, and boy did Peuma make it look easy, from the moment we arrived and met the precious dogs who live here. I’ve never been somewhere where I’ve felt at once so in awe of my surroundings and completely at home. Eve is so knowledgeable and warm (the kind of person you’d be lucky to be seated next to at a dinner party) and her staff is absolutely wonderful. The food is incredible, easily rivaling our favorite spots back home in NYC. There are lots of activities (we so enjoyed horseback riding with the world’s nicest leader) but this is the kind of place where all you really need to do to have an unforgettable day is step outside and just…be. We will always treasure our time here and are so grateful to have crossed paths with Eve and her brilliant paradise.
I really can’t explain what a fantastic place this is. The rooms, the location, the staff, the food, it was all wonderful. Everyone in our group was so delighted with how special it felt to be a guest here, like you were visiting someone’s home and they rolled out the red carpet for your stay. The horseback riding is definitely something special. I would definitely recommend this place for a nice relaxing end to a hiking trip.
4 of us stayed in the mountain lodge and we absolutely loved it. The accommodation is superb, the setting is glorious and the hotel restaurant was really nice. Lots of vegetarian options and good breakfast. Very friendly staff and lovely, well cared for animals. We thoroughly enjoyed the walk from the lodge to the restaurant, but to be aware it’s around 1km and fairly steep. This meant it was totally peaceful though. Have removed one star because of what I feel is the excessive cost of the additional activities. $50 for a yoga class is twice what you’d pay in the most expensive studio in London. You weren’t allowed to rent equipment such as the kayaks or sup for personal use - you could only pay to go on a very expensive guided tour. We felt this was a shame as the high cost limited what we could do. Despite this would still highly recommend the accommodation.
