Refurbished hotel 2024, staffs are kind and helpful. Rooms are clean with comfort beds. Location is good, bus stop just outside the hotel. And the sandy beach only takes 5 minutes to walk. But now there has construction work along the beach. So it's better to walk an other 10 min far away to get the water shower on the beach. You can buy a bus card T-10 bus plana from the nearby shop at €10.50 for 10 rides. A single ride will be charged around €2-6 if without the bus card. All kids loves this hotel, because everyday there has plenty activities for the children.
Visited as a family of 4 with a 8 and 13 year old and enjoyed our holiday here. The duplex rooms worked for us so we had a privacy and not all stuck on one floor/room. There is a theme running through the hotel and surrounding gardens. There were two bigger than single beds on the upper level with a sofa bed 🛏️ in the lower which pulled out into another bed, the part that pulled out wasn’t the comfiest but it did the job for a week. The stairs are also quite dangerous with us having two accidents/injuries from falling on them, it wasn’t the stairs fault for the accidents but because they are solid tile, any fall could cause a bad injury. The balcony on the ground floor was facing the road and wasn’t noisy to us. Air con and cleanliness was great. The food had some solid options with different county themes each night, if you didn’t fancy those there was always a backup solid option of their great pizzas, pastas. The snack bar was also a delight, serving wraps, burgers, pizzas, chips, salads, crisps and nuts through the day meaning the kids could help themselves if they didn’t fancy anything from the set meal menus. Estrella and sangria on self service or at the bar and slushies for the kids, also milkshakes, waters of sorts and sodas. The coffee from the machines wasn’t great but they do make better ones for you behind the bars from a proper espresso machine. The entertainment on a night was mixed for me, the kids entertainers were outstanding, we loved the mini disco and quiz but the acts that followed were just ok. Also, were was Veo Veo?? Maria, Fred (Fred flintstone with beard), Paula and others all did a great job with the kids and it was great to watch them throughout the day bring joy to them all. They also arranged activities throughout the day which we didn’t get involved in but were great to watch. We loved the pool, never struggled to get a lounger, if you plan a pool day you will need to secure them before 09:30, failing that, we always were able to find a table to sit at. One of the slides was out of action for a few days but we enjoyed the other, the pool is great as it starts shallow and goes deeper and a separate splash pool for toddlers. Around the pool isn’t slippery either. It’s not the biggest pool but did the job and could get rather busy in the peak afternoon. We were warned about the beach and works undertaken on the promenade and took the chance, we didn’t encounter any noise from works there, it wasn’t the best to look at approaching the beach but once you are on looking at the sea, you wouldn’t know. I imagine if there was any drilling, you wouldn’t hear this from within the hotel as it would be drown out by the music and general hotel noise. Finally, location wise, there isn’t many bars so you won’t get any groups getting heavily drunk, there are a couple of bars along the front which do food and beers. Getting to Salou is easy, it’s more lively there and it’s about 45 min walk or you can get on the bus outside the hotel. It was E 2.50 each one way and Eur 9.80 in a taxi on the way back. I ran it in 20 mins. La Pineda is great for families, if you don’t want family friendly or all inclusive I would recommend Salou for more lively night life. Final note.. We were told by TUI that the hotel would let us breakfast early before pick up on the final day however this was not the case and was told they only did this on certain days, this meant we had to leave luggage and quickly get something in 5 minutes when it opened. Overall we would stop here again and would recommend if you are a family with young kids with the all inclusive package.
Positives - rooms were lovely, always clean, showers were amazing, food was good (large choice but nothing super delicious), location is good (5 min walk to the beachfront). Negatives - you won’t get a sunbed unless you wake up before 7.30am!!!!! Sunbed wars are real! They need more beds or at least to manage people reserving beds and not using them. When you’re travelling alone with a child, I can’t leave the child in the room on their own to go and reserve a bed at the crack of dawn. I also don’t want to wake my child super early whilst on holiday! Were there to relax - so it’s not a great situation and it did put a damper on our holiday. We were only there for 3 days and couldn’t get a bed the whole time. Pool is also FREEZING! The sea is a lot warmer.
