10/10 experience at the Eurostars das Letras. The room was extremely spacious and clean. A lot of space, especially for European standards! The beds were comfortable, sheets nice to sleep on, shower water pressure was good. The hotel is in a more quiet part of the city but not too far from the bustling center. It felt safe and convenient. The hallways smelled luxurious, my family and I wanted to know the scent that was used. Downside was that the TV didn’t connect to the internet but that wasn’t a priority for us. I’d recommend staying here and also going to eat at the rooftop next door (Mona Verde) as well.
We stayed at this hotel for a week, anticipating a five-star experience but encountering some issues, tempered by one notable highlight. Here’s a concise summary of our stay. • No Bellhop Service: During peak tourist season, the hotel surprisingly had no bellhop available, which was unexpected. • Noisy Air Conditioning: The air conditioning, even at its lowest setting, was noticeably loud, making rest less comfortable. • Room Door Concerns: Without peepholes on room doors, identifying visitors was challenging, raising minor safety concerns. • Housekeeping Issues: We requested housekeeping three times. On two occasions, staff knocked without announcing themselves, and once, a staff member tried to enter without knocking. Fortunately, the door was locked, but clearer communication would have been helpful. • Hot Water Issues: From the third day, hot water was unavailable in the bathroom most afternoons and evenings. By the fifth morning, the issue persisted without any notification or resolution from the hotel. • Unattended Front Desk: At times in the morning, the front desk was unmanned, which seemed unusual for a five-star hotel. • Excellent Breakfast: The breakfast buffet was exceptional—fresh, diverse, and delicious, with outstanding service that truly met five-star standards. Overall: The breakfast was a highlight, but operational challenges made the experience feel less than five-star.
If you are used to a five star hotel in NYC, San Francisco, LA, Miami, Las Vegas, Tokyo, etc., you’ll find that, comparatively, this is a 3.5 star hotel. That said, it Is convenient, quiet, and the service is professional. Amenities are minimal. One spoon for the room to stir your coffee or tea with. They will sometimes forget to clean your room. AC works great!
