This was my 3rd time staying here. I chose it because it's convenient to the train station. The room was clean and comfortable, the all-over vibe is great, the staff are pleasant and helpful, and the decor is simple but lovely. My only negatives are that some of the equipment in the fitness center could use some attention, and some of the outlets in my room didn't seem to work. The shower is oddly situated as well. But overall, a comfortable stay in a convenient location. Ate at the bar and had a nice evening with 2 complete strangers.
5 Stars – Impeccable Stay with Outstanding Service from Max Glazer I had a fantastic experience at the downtown EVEN Hotel by IHG, and much of it was thanks to Max Glazer, the Front Office Manager. From the moment I arrived, Max made me feel genuinely welcomed. He went out of his way to help arrange a surprise flower delivery to my room for my guest — a personal touch that made a big impression. The property itself was spotless — one of the cleanest hotels I’ve stayed in. Every space, from the lobby to the fitness areas and guest rooms, was exceptionally well maintained and fresh. The attention to cleanliness and detail throughout the hotel made the entire stay feel comfortable and safe. Would also like to mention - Jordan. Part of the Front Office team and welcomed me immediately when I got off the elevator and arrived. He stayed in constant contact with myself and my guest during the duration of our stay. Extremely impressed I was on a first name basis the entire time with several other transients. Food and beverage amenities were excellent. The healthy grab-and-go options and infused water stations were thoughtful and convenient, and the on-site dining options were fresh and satisfying. Max’s dedication to service, paired with the hotel’s high standards of cleanliness and wellness-focused amenities, made this an experience I won’t forget. I highly recommend staying here — and hope you get a chance to be helped by Max!
Maybe it's just me but it took me a while to find this place even using GPS and asking a cop that never heard of it. It was sort of a strange experience. I had a lot of trouble finding the front desk and you have to take the elevator to the 5th floor to get there. My room was like 6 miles from the elevators and my view consisted of a parking garage with a homeless person sleeping near the entrance. It wasn't a bad experience, just kinda odd. There's no valet even though I was told there was. $30 a day to park there! Not included in price. When it came time for breakfast we were told that they were running behind and after explaining that I had to get to a doctor's appointment he just sort of said sorry. But saw him sitting outside smoking a cigarette 5 minutes after that as I was checking out. There wasn't anything really special about the place. I won't return. For the rate we paid I could stay almost anywhere else in Pittsburgh. Which I pretty much recommend.
