Excelsior Belvedere Hotel & Spa

This property is beautiful, has amazing amenities, a gorgeous private beach and & convenient location close to shopping, dining, etc. It is impeccably clean and has a classy Italian with Beverly Hills twist vibe. Our rooms were delightful and complete with a balcony, roomy bathroom and walk in closets. We had lovely spa treatments with very talented therapists. Every member of the staff goes above and beyond to make sure you feel welcomed and cared for. Honestly some of the best hospitality I have received in a really long time. Thank you to everyone at the hotel that made our stay special. We look forward to our return to Ischia. If you are considering booking don’t hesitate!!!!

It was a pleasant stay. The staff is invaluable. They provided tips and good recommendations and even booked things for us. Our room and the other hotel areas were always extremely clean. Staying at this hotel made our holiday so much better! It was an excellent choice!

We spent five unforgettable days at the Grand Hotel Excelsior for our honeymoon—and truly didn’t want to leave. From the moment we arrived, it felt like we had stepped into a secret seaside villa. The hotel was only partially occupied during our stay, which made the experience feel incredibly private and serene, like it was all our own. The staff is genuinely 5-star. Warm, attentive, and professional in every interaction, they struck the perfect balance between luxury service and relaxed hospitality. It was clear many of the other guests were return visitors—and after staying here, we understand why. The decor is timeless and quintessentially Italian—elegant without ever feeling overdone. Housekeeping is done twice daily, and there’s a quiet, constant effort to keep the entire property spotless, yet never intrusive. Everything simply flows. We dined in the hotel’s formal dining room on our first night and were blown away by the food—fresh seafood pasta, perfectly cooked lamb, and thoughtful service that made it feel like a special occasion. The hotel’s three bars are also a delight—each one beautiful in its own way and perfect for a pre-dinner Aperol soda and chips during aperitivo hour. The property features four thermal water pools, each with its own unique layout and tucked-away coves that make them feel like private sanctuaries. They’re fantastic for a peaceful soak, yet we found ourselves drawn to the beach most days—sandy, lush, and just steps away, with a dedicated lifeguard who effortlessly sets up your umbrella and towels so you can fully relax. The crowd is mostly an older, well-traveled set, with a few other honeymooners and the occasional family, adding to the calm, unhurried energy of the place. It’s hard to put into words how beautiful this hotel is—it’s a true gem, a refined and romantic escape that still somehow feels like a best-kept secret. If you’re looking to unwind, reconnect, and experience a slower, more elegant pace of life, this is the place. We’re already dreaming about our return.
