Excelsior Hotel Gallia a Luxury Collection Hotel Milan

Great bed very comfortable. Loved the shuttle service to the town center (book ahead on site). Terrace food was SO good!! Convenient access to the train station too. Loved the amenities including the pool, sauna and salt room. Didn’t really know how to use the ice room. Spa services needed reservation days ahead such as manicure pedicure massage so didn’t get any (also quite expensive)

Fantastic stay! Staff are super friendly, services are 5-star and overall a wonderful stay. Spa services are also wonderful as is the breakfast buffet. Easy to navigate from the airport by train and directly across the piazza from Milan centrale.

I stayed at this hotel for 3 nights. The location is excellent and everything was very clean. The reception area is beautifully designed and gives a luxurious first impression. We arrived at 4:30 PM, but unfortunately, our room (Atelier Suite) was not ready yet. Check-in is officially from 3:00 PM, so waiting 30–40 minutes was disappointing—especially for a 5-star hotel. This was actually the first time I’ve experienced something like this at a luxury property. Originally, I considered giving fewer stars because of the delay. However, the kind lady at the restaurant offered us complimentary coffee and drinks while we waited. That thoughtful gesture made up for the inconvenience. The room was very clean and spacious, but the minibar only had drinks—not really snacks or chocolates. Also, the tables had visible cracks, and the room had a poor view, facing a wall in the corner of the building. On a positive note: the staff were very friendly, and the valet parking service was truly exceptional. They even brought the car right to the entrance, fully ready to go. It made the experience very smooth and pleasant. As a lovely surprise, the hotel provided a small birthday cake for me, since my birthday was a few days after the stay. Thank you again for this thoughtful touch—it really meant a lot. Breakfast was also good, though I didn’t enjoy the omelette and scrambled eggs. They tasted artificial, almost like they came from a box or bottle. In summary, I would rate this hotel 4.1 stars. But due to the amazing valet team and small thoughtful gestures like the birthday cake, I’ll round it up to 4.5. I would stay here again—provided I don’t have to wait an hour or two hour for my room. What I appreciated most during my stay was the spacious room and the outstanding valet service. These guys truly elevate the overall experience and make both the hotel and the car part of the luxury.
