The rooms are very nicely laid out like any hotel you would expect and for the price, it is very good value for money. The only 2 things that would have made this stay better would be that if the AC worked better. One night it worked great, the next not so good. The beds were okay but I could feel the springs in mattress which I wouldn’t have expected but if you are only spending a few nights here to explore Valencia, I would recommend it.
After reading other recent reviews I guess it was not just bad luck and almost want to change it to two stars instead of 3... We only stayed for one night but in a group of 12 people so we had 5 rooms and most of them were fine but ours had so many issues we asked to change room for the first time ever. Firstly it was literally the smallest room in the floor plan but whatever, secondly the a/c didn't work at all and the safe didn't work either, thirdly there were cloth moths flying everywhere (we killed like 4 and saw several more I even took pictures and managed to get multiple in a single shot) and lastly but most important there was something wrong with the plumbing in the bathroom/toilet so what we assume was sewage pipe smell filled the bathroom and if you left the door open the whole room as well and you could then smell it in half the hallway of the fourth floor as well. Also half the call elevator buttons didn't work or in some levels more like 3 out of 4 or 5 out of 6 didn't (luckily inside elevators they worked fine). The only replacement room they had didn't have double bed but two singles pushed together which wasn't really an issue for us anymore at that point and had a bit weird musty smell too and a bit weird super long hallway entry inside the room that made my girlfriend dizzy and she wasn't very happy there either but at least everything worked (though a/c could only be on or off and the temperature was locked and could not be changed). In the other 4 rooms the only issue was the top overhead shower head not working in one and that's all so guess we got really unlucky with our 🤷♂️ What is nice is that they have their own underground parking that you can either pay extra after arrival or you can already reserve a room with parking which costs either almost or literally the same as a similar room without it so that is great if you are visiting Valencia by car or rented one at the airport. The beach is NOT in walking distance as we originally thought, but the long strip central park that cuts through all of Valencia's center and the city of arts and palace of arts is very reachable on foot though it's a bit of a longer walk for some you can walk through that park as well so pretty great. You can also get on bus very easily or metro sort of as well - the closest station is at the city of arts I think. The national gallery (museum de les Arte's) is about a 9e taxi ride and from the historical center center you could either walk for about 2km or it was a 6e ride with cabify.
Not the best hotel I have stayed at for sure, and certainly not of a 4 star standard. Lets start positive: 1- Staff were all very nice. My parter is a Spanish speaker, I am not, and we were both able to have great service from the staff. Always very pleasant, kind, and willing to help. 2- We were able to check in early. We had an early arrival into Valencia and we were able to get checked in at approximately 10:30am. 3- Good breakfast selection. 4- Free bottled water in mini bar. Now the negatives: 1. Tired rooms. Much of the laminate floor in the room was tired, work, and visibly needing replacement. I sympathise with the hotel staff as there is only so much they can do to make a tired room look good. 2. Poor room A/C. Our room has quite poor A/C. It was just enough to keep by relatively content, but was of a poor standard if I am being honest. Not of the standard I would expect. 3. Bad smells from A/C. Most mornings I would wake up to a very pungent eggy smell from the A/C. To be quite honest it was pretty bad, and would have been worthy of a complaint to the reception. 4. Pool size. Perhaps I could have done some more research, but I had thought that the pool was a bit larger than it actually is. It is a deep pool, so not suitable for anyone with anxiety around water, but not very long. Not the place you could do laps. Overall, the stay was OK. I wouldn’t stay again. The location isn’t the best, but not the worst. For me the biggest positive about the hotel were the very kind staff. And my message to the owners would be:- make this a true 4 star hotel so that you can pair it with your 5 star staff members.
