Great hotel in a great location. The room was very comfortable for the standard of urban hotels. Including the bathroom, with an amazing shower. Would come back when visiting Paris again.
I was really excited about this hotel, and honestly, it is a beautiful place. The room was lovely—though the lighting system was confusing and never made much sense. I also had a few awkward moments where housekeeping walked in while I was still inside. It wasn’t until my last day that I discovered a small privacy button on the light switch. Would’ve saved some hassle if that had been pointed out at check-in. The staff were very friendly at first, which made me feel confident about extending my stay. I asked via email about adding an extra night and was told yes. I then followed up at the front desk, confirmed it again (with the same staff member), and provided my credit card—so I assumed I was all set. The day before my original checkout, I noticed my card hadn’t been charged, so I double-checked with the manager. She reassured me it was all taken care of and that I didn’t need to worry. Then the next morning, that same front desk person told me it was time to check out. I explained that the manager had confirmed the extension, but apparently she had been “tired” the day before and misunderstood me. So the extension was never processed. I get it—mistakes happen, and I have grace for that. Managing a hotel isn’t easy, and this isn’t the end of the world. But I did have to pack everything up last minute, lost a good part of my day (writing this while grabbing lunch), and was told I could book a room at one of their partner hotels… for €550. Being expected to cover that cost after their mistake just felt ridiculous. Really unfortunate, because this place could’ve been a fantastic experience. But after how this was handled, I won’t be staying here again—or at any of their sister properties.
I usually don't write reviews but I feel like I have to! I was excited to try this hotel but honestly the service has been very bad. The WiFi barely works, so be aware if you are in Paris for business I'd definitely choose somewhere else to stay. Housekeeping walked in unannounced. The room service doesn't respect dietary restrictions. Housekeeping added a 30% charge to my laundry because I didn't fill out the sheet. Chateau Voltaire is still the winner in Paris for me.
