My wife and I stayed at Fafa for a week in May 2015 in the sunset fale. It was absolutely wonderful. Snorkeling day trips great with lots of good under water photos. Did some kayak fishing for GTs. Food excellent and staff friendly. Day trips to "mainland" worth a half day or two, but the island is magic. We're coming back next year.
Talk about having an unwind and reset. Perfect, the place is a must for anyone looking to slow down and watch the sunset with a cocktail and your favorite person, no phone, no shoes and no news. Don't expect 5 star accommodation, but you will get 10 star relaxation. I loved this place and am planning to return just as soon as I can. Thank you
If you want an intimate tropical island resort experience, this is the best you're going to get in Tongatapu. About 30 minutes by boat transfer from Tongatapu, the fale accommodation (disclaimer, visited for the day so didn't get to experience these) and common areas are attractively set amongst the jungle that covers most of the island. The bar and lounge area is perched right on the edge of the water, lunch was tasty, and there are snorkelling kits for [cheap] hire. Bliss.
