Fairmont Empress Hotel

We enjoyed a short getaway, and it was simply perfect. The hotel’s location right in downtown made it easy for us to explore the city’s beautiful waterfront.Our room was comfortable, and the service was outstanding. A special thank to the beautiful and helpful young lady at reception (Miriam )who made us feel so welcome. She arranged the afternoon tea for us an experience we’ll never forget. We left feeling refreshed and happy, and we would definitely come back.

Iconic spot with old-world charm and stunning architecture. The lobby and tea service feel like stepping into a different era, though it can be a bit pricey. Great for people-watching, photos, or just soaking in the grandeur. Even if you’re not staying, it’s worth a quick visit just for the ambiance.

From a planning perspective, the service is consistently excellent—staff are polished, responsive, and easy to work with. For corporate programs, the Empress is a strong contender. The meeting spaces are flexible and well-appointed, and the property’s overall ambiance lends itself well to executive-level events and incentive travel. It’s a venue I’d confidently recommend for high-end gatherings where setting and service are key.
