Fairmont Pittsburgh

The Fairmont Pittsburgh is a stunningly, beautiful, Triple A Four Diamond Preferred hotel in the center of our constantly evolving Downtown. I have always been satisfied with my brief visits to The Fairmont and full disclosure, I have never stayed overnight there. But I have been there for private and public events and dining experiences. My most recent visit was for the Mother's Day Brunch Buffet. It was an excellent experience. Service was great. Very attentive. The atmosphere was lovely and relaxing. Exactly what you'd want to celebrate a special day. And the food was delicious! They had an excellent array of choices including hot breakfast items, a salad bar, a kids bar, a chef omelette station, a raw bar, a dessert table, a waffle bar, an avocado toast station and a coffee and tea station. Wow! It was a lot of food and a lot of fun. A really enjoyable experience for the whole family.

The room was comfortable and clean with a nice view. The elevators were painfully slow. The self parking was "full" forcing us to use valet parking for $65 per day - it's the same garage right? Lastly, at check out we found an error on the bill that took a long time to resolve. Based on the relatively high price we paid per night, we were disappointed with the level of service and will seek other hotel options when traveling to Pittsburgh.

Our room was so dusty and not cleaned well at all. Everything in the room and bathroom had a layer of dust. There was dust everywhere on everything. The bathroom looked like it was maybe just wiped a little. There was hair on the bathroom floor, the toilet was not clean, there was a layer of dust on the bathtub, burn marks and stains on the carpet and layers of dust on the shelves in the closet. I have stayed in many hotels and this has to be the worst and dirtiest hotel room in any category I have ever stayed in. We were supposed to stay here 3 nights but after seeing the room we immediately canceled the next 2 nights. We checked out early the next morning. We told them this is so unacceptable for any hotel but especially for a Fairmont Hotel. My recommendation is do not stay here unless you want to have to clean up the room yourself before you even want to open your suitcase. Luckily I always travel with Clorox wipes Also air conditioning doesn’t work well. Set it down to 66 and still not cooling room.
