Falkenstein Grand is a charming historical property located in the upscale villa district of Königstein, Taunus, just outside Frankfurt. The hotel centers around a grand main building with elegant architecture, offering a beautiful outdoor terrace with a view of the Frankfurt skyline. The vast surrounding park features an outdoor pool area that adds to the resort-like feel of the property. We had requested an early check-in, as we needed to change for an event we were to attend. This was granted after some discussion at reception, as our originally assigned room was not yet ready. As a result, we were kindly upgraded to another room, in one of the several additional residences spreading across the grounds. While our room was quiet and spacious, it had a tiny bathroom and lacked modern amnesties. Some furnishings felt outdated and could benefit from a refresh to match the prestige of the setting. Breakfast is best taken on the outdoor terrace and includes a generous buffet with quality options — both hot and cold. Service was generally friendly, but the staff occasionally seemed overwhelmed during busy periods. Overall, Falkenstein Grand offers a tranquil, elegant stay with a strong sense of history and expansive outdoor spaces. With a bit more focus on service consistency and modernizing the guest rooms, it could truly shine as a top-tier retreat near Frankfurt.

The hotel is beautiful. The only negative is that as Americans we expected air conditioning for a place this nice. The breakfast buffet is second to none, but it was not made clear that the buffet was not included. None of us at $36 worth of breakfast. It was good but it was not worth $36.

This place is a complete dump. After traveling for 9 weeks with our family throughput Europe and staying in five star hotels this is offensive that they consider this a five star. From the moment we arrived, it was clear this hotel is run down, neglected, and poorly managed. The photos online must be from decades ago, because what we walked into looked nothing like them. Our room was so old with no renovation in site. The room was a disaster: chipped paint, stains, and furniture that looked like it was pulled from a junkyard. It smelled musty, like no one had properly cleaned or aired it out in years. The bedding was questionable at best, and the bathroom was grimy and outdated. Service? What service? We tried multiple times to get assistance—by phone, in person, even by email—and got absolutely nowhere. It was as if the staff just vanished. No one was available at the front desk, and any attempt to reach someone went unanswered. This hotel is not just bad—Save yourself the disappointment, frustration, and wasted money—do not stay here.
