Familotel Alphotel

OK, I am bias. I have been going to this hotel with my wife and sons once or twice a year for the past 20 years. Initially we went there for their outstanding kid friendly facilities and activities. At 23 and 28yrs of age they still love this place! The hotel and staff upholds traditional values, the ambiance being both friendly and efficient, and the food, my particular weakness, is fantastic. I can not recommend this hotel highly enough.

We are currently on day 4 of our stay. Kitchen / food - we have diet restrictions ( gluten free and cow milk products free) and the kitchen has accommodated us incredibly well. On the first morning when we were here for breakfast, I mentioned to our waiter that I liked the hummus from the dinner the day before - every morning after there was a small serving of that hummus extra just for me on the table. The serving staff pays attention to little details like this and always interact so incredibly well with our daughter. The food is delicious and high quality. Breakfast/ salad buffet, lunch buffet and cake offer the perfect variety. The table is always set beautifully and no matter how big of a mess we make it looks wonderful again before the next meal. Room - I had read, before we came, bad reviews regarding the comfort of the beds. I had already made the booking at this point so I was concerned and had low expectations BUT when we first arrived the colleague told us if anything isn’t right, for example the bed, to let them know and they will find a solution ( eg mattress topper) I immediately tried the bed and it was super comfortable. My husband and daughter also think so. I don’t understand the reviews I read. The room is incredibly clean. I’m super picky and whenever I arrive in a room I look closely for hairs, stains, spots on the sink / mirror … it was perfect! I feel so comfortable here. The kids club / activities for kids - the colleagues working with the kids are wonderful. Klaudi ( I’m sorry if I spell that wrong) goes above and beyond for our daughter and the other ladies have been amazing as well. The play area has so many options and if I were a kid, I could easily spend the day just playing in the indoor play area. They also organised a kids disco, pony riding, Rodelbahn trip, a hike, there is a magic show tonight… it’s just an absolute dream for kids. Our 3 year old is so happy. The outdoor playground is also great. Wellness - I have booked a massage for today. Also options for other spa services eg nails. I just can’t say enough good things. Thank you. Everything has been wonderful.

Not enough storage place in rooms specially for winters. Rooms are too small and dark. Very friendly and helpful staff at the reception. Food was excellent, great selection. We paid 3500 Euro for 7 nights for 2 adults and a child. Full pension. The hotel is located about 80 Meter away from main road and it is a very steep uphill.
