Was in Shenzhen for a 2 day work trip and had a very comfortable stay at BW Felicity Hotel. Its called the 'Fulin Hotel' in Chinese and goes by this name on apple maps. They have a 7-11 and a bar in the lobby. The reception folks helped me get my RMB exchanged for HKD at a good rate very quickly! The breakfast buffet was good! Coffee machine can be better though. Overall Its a well maintained vintage hotel. The best part was discovering that the Luhou port is just 1km away from the hotel and you can literally walk into Honkong from here!! IMP Advice: Dont trust google maps anywhere in china!! Even with a vpn on!! most locations are incorrect!

I stayed at Best Western Shenzhen Felicity Hotel in Luohu for 3 nights in July 2025 Unfortunately, my experience was not pleasant, mainly due to the hotel's misleading location. Online maps made it seem like it was just a 5-minute walk across the road from the Luohu metro station, but in reality, you cannot cross the road directly. You must walk around a long detour, which is especially inconvenient in heavy rain and when carrying large luggage — as was my case. This made going in and out of the hotel every day a hassle. The walking route to and from the hotel was also very narrow, with no overhead shelter, so I had to walk under the scorching sun or heavy rain. Even worse, the path was shared with electric scooters, making it feel unsafe and uncomfortable every single time I went out or returned to the hotel. In addition, the tap water in the bathroom had a muddy smell, which made brushing my teeth quite unpleasant. This raises concerns about water hygiene and maintenance. On the last day, things got worse. It was pouring rain again, and I booked a ride-hailing car (¥9) online. However, I was shocked to find a sign at the hotel entrance saying ride-hailing cars are not allowed to enter the driveway. I had to wait at the entrance in the rain because the pickup point was far on the main road and the ground was slippery. A young hotel staff member at the gate kindly offered to help. He said he could carry my luggage and walk me to the border area (around 10–15 minutes) since the car couldn't come in. I was very thankful and offered him ¥20 as a tip to show my appreciation. To my surprise, instead of saying thank you, he told me ¥20 was not enough and insisted on at least ¥30. I was stunned, but gave him the extra money and left immediately. The whole experience left me extremely uncomfortable. This incident made me wonder — was he genuinely helping, or was this a kind of scam? Either way, this is not what I expect from a hotel staff member. I hope the hotel can look into this and improve both accessibility and staff training in the future.

Short advice, Do not stay here . Front desk staff were rude upon check-in. The room and hallways stink of stale smoke (even the non-smoking rooms clearly have had people smoking in them), the internet connection is intermittent at best (so don't stay here for business) and it misrepresents that it has a pool, its drained of water and out of service. Also, while this hotel might be close to the station, there is a barrier due to construction so it winds up being a lot farther from the actual station and border crossing than purported.
