We stayed over Easter and had a great stay. The hotel is really well located for visiting the D-Day landing sites. It’s also very close to Bayeux. The staff were very helpful and welcoming. They allowed us an early check-in which was really useful. The rooms were comfortable and we had a very good dinner. We would definitely come back.

We had an overall positive experience of the Ferme de la Ranconnieres. The service was exceptional and saved what was otherwise a disastrous day. The car broke down, we had to take the train... missed a connection and didn't arrive til 10pm. The lady on reception, who I'd contacted as the disaster unfolded, sorted out a 3 course meal for us, to eat in the bar as the restaurant had closed. The meal was great ( surely not as great as if we'd got to the restaurant on time, but a very good meal to be served in the bar) We had the 'cozy' rooms, which were small, but comfortable. Unless you wish to spend time in the bedroom, they were perfectly fine. As the hotel is in the middle of nowhere, and we had no car, we had to take breakfast at the hotel. This was the only poor part of our visit (and I note several others have commented on it). For €18 I really would expect a decent coffee, not something from a serve-yourself automatic coffee maker. The breakfast was simple buffet, with nothing particularly fresh or interesting, though the orange juice was freshly pressed. It was the least interesting breakfast we had an our week in France and really poor value at €18. If you have a car... go to a local bar for a decent coffee and croissant instead. Otherwise, I happily go there and recommend.

The highlight of this place was the service and attention to detail from Dahlia working at the bar. And the woman working day time reception and the man working over night. I believe he was Turkish and Syrian, I forgot his name. Everyone else is a reminder of how service In France is not good. They’re rude, sarcastic, and at dinner they didn’t allow us to make reservations at 8:30, so we went at 8pm and still waited at our table until 8:45 for anyone to come to us. I even got up to get menus to try and save some time but we did not eat until 9:40 anyway. They completely ignored us and kept making us wait. Despite having a screaming baby. Luckily my room had AC but everyone else did not have AC in their room. WiFi sucks. It’s in the middle of no where but has some relax vibes to it. The kids playground is moldy, screws are rusty, and the wood is splintering. A hazard for children. You can feed bunnies and chickens which was fun for the kids. It is not lit up at night so is a hazard for older people as well. Would I come back? No but thank you Dahlia and the young man working over night for making it a better stay with your service. I would give it a one star but Dahlia saved it. Breakfast was the worse we’ve had in France.
