My husband and I spent four nights at Ficus Sunset Suites in February. We enjoyed our stay for the most part, but will not come back for the following reason. For the first two days, you could hear every word our neighbors would say. When I went to the front desk to report that our neighbors were arguing loudly on and off throughout the day, I was told that they were unable to manage guests' voice levels but that they would send out a message to their booking company. It wasn't until the next day when I told them that the arguing got louder, we heard cussing and crying that the management seemed to take the issue a little more seriously. This did not make our stay relaxing. Overall, this hotel was overly expensive, and did not meet our expectations at all. We do not recommend this hotel to anyone.
Good overall experience. The service and attention from the staff is excellent. A few, but significant things makes the total rating lower. A bit limited variety in the breakfast buffet. Weak shower with warm water. The food in the restaurant is very basic.
Checking in was easy and we got in early. That’s when we discovered that they are using two sided key deadbolt locks with one key. This means if one person wants to leave the room, they are either locked out, or the person who is in the room is locked in. Just imagine that for a minute if you’re with a family or you’re a couple. So either your family can’t get out or you have to leave them unlocked inside a room in a place you know nothing about. Service is S L O W. Literally not one person was eating dinner at the restaurant. The front desk is not 24/7. Not a big deal, but don’t expect three star amenities Sink had no stopper HVAC was noisy You can’t get coffee until 6:40 am. Luckily there are shops in town open at 5 If you ask for extra bottled water they will suggest you buy it from the bar upstairs. BTW Drinks are $14 US. The grounds are very pretty, but it’s more like a cabin. Also, if you’re walking into town, you will be traversing a very large hill up and down. If I didn’t call it out here then everything else was perfect. All that said I’d look elsewhere. UPDATE: they will let you take breakfast to go, which is convenient as hell.
