Fiesta Inn Mazatlán

We stayed at the Fiesta Inn in Mazatlan during the eclipse on 8 April 2024. The hotel greatly exceeded my expectations, particularly because it hadn't even been built yet when I made the reservation, and Google Maps satellite view still shows an empty lot. The service staff were swiftly attentive and also friendly. The room was comfortable and totally quiet. There were a few small quirks. The hotel is brand new, so they are probably still figuring everything out. When we arrived, our room had no towels. I picked up the phone to call the front desk, but discovered that the phone did not work. So I went down to the lobby to ask at the front desk. By the time I got back upstairs to our room, a maid was waiting outside the room with a pile of towels. An initial miss, but very quick service! The room does not have a refrigerator, which would have been a nice addition. I had heard from some friends that the Oceano Palace hotel, where they had booked, was afflicted with "CIA-tortue" levels of nonstop Mariachi music and partying, so I was particularly relieved that the Fiesta Inn was quiet and peaceful.

Travelled with family for the 2024 eclipse and booked rooms before the hotel was finished being built. Overall the stay was great. My family enjoyed the convenience of the (tasty) breakfast buffet and the service was very good. The next door (fancy) grocery was convenient and the downstairs Italian cafe had un gato muy lindo. We found ourselves wishing for some outdoor space: rooms don't have balconies, windows don't open, and the pool area closes at 2200. It was also a little complicated getting to our party's three rooms which were on different floors because the elevator is keyed to your room card. The rooms could benefit from some art. There is a little fit and finish work still going on because the hotel is so new.

Rooms are good. Service was awesome. Only complaint was the toilet not flushing properly. The property is across the street from the beach.
