Finca Can Mateu

This is the other Mallorca far away from the Ballermann. The finca offers all the necessary comfort for 4 people, far away from the noise and hustle and bustle of tourist hotspots. Great shopping in Campos, beaches not far away either. But rental car is essential. EVERYTHING you need for a relaxing holiday... We'll be back.

We spent two weekends at the finca with two children (8, 12). First impressions...It's clean and a very good size. The lower floor is equipped with a seating area, sofa, TV, kitchen, and shower/toilet. Upstairs there are two very large bedrooms (with air conditioning), one with a baby bed, and a large bathroom with a bathtub. Two towels are provided per person, but they are not changed. Bed linens are also provided, as are thicker blankets. You must bring your own towels for the pool. The pool is a great size for swimming laps (approx. 8 x 4). There are two barbecue grills and even a pizza/bread oven under the outdoor lighting. There is a separate room with a shower and toilet, a washing machine, a parasol, etc., which can be used from the pool. The finca is a 15-minute drive from shops (Aldi, Lidl, Mercadona, Eroski, gas station, Müller, pharmacies, etc.) that have everything you need. 15 minutes from EsTrence, Colonia de Sant Jordi... It's very remote, located in a cul-de-sac, with a farm about 300 minutes away, so the odd smell can easily waft over. But that's bearable. In the garden, there are four very productive lemon trees that are great to use. The worst thing is the ants, who find any crumbs in seconds, even in the house. You have to pack everything away and make sure it's sealed. Sponges, rags, etc. also need to be replaced regularly... You have to take your own trash to the garbage collection point on campus, which we found quite annoying, as the high plastic consumption generates a lot of waste. Due to the high limescale content, it's better to use still water from a 5-liter canister for the coffee machine. But otherwise, we really liked it.
