We had an amazing time in "the barn", the bigger one of the two houses. We loved how quiet it is up there, surrounded by nature, great views, lots of space, and everything one could possibly need. The fireplace in the living room was a nice extra, Carlos, the owner is, friendly and helpful. Up there lives a family of 5 cats. The owner placed a little house for them in the garden and provides cat food in both houses, but he claims they are not his cats. In my opinion, if you feed cats, you are responsible, so I hope, if they ever need a vet, he will help them. They are just adorable! PLEASE provide food and fresh water when you stay up there! We hope we can return one day and highly recommend this accommodation!

We stayed in "the Barn" for 5 nights and I must say it was exactly what we were looking for - a quiet place as far from other neighbors as possible and as close to the forest as possible but yet close to a supermarket. The access road to the finca is rather rough but nothing what any regular car couldn't manage. We actually liked it. I think a good road would spoil the impression of a place hidden in nature. There is a little parking place surrounded by fruit trees like lemons, oranges, avocados, figs, plums or even khaki (which unfortunately were note ripe yet). The barn offers a super large garden connected directly to the Anaga forest and offering fascinating views of the Teide volcano. There is a large enough BBQ with all the equipment needed. The house consists of a living room with a flat TV which includes NETFLIX, 2 sofas and a fireplace. The living room is connected to a spacious and very well equipped kitchen. There is nothing we would be missing there during our stay. The bedrooms were large enough and so was the bed in the master bedroom. We also liked the bathroom which offers a very well sized shower. The laundry place with a washing machine and a dryer came out handy as well. The whole place was very clean and well looked after. Paloma and Carlos were very helpful and nice hosts. We enjoyed our stay so much that we can't wait to get there again as soon as possible. It's a great place in the middle of nowhere but 10 minutes drive from all the most important spots in the north of the island.

We stayed in the smaller 2 bedroom property, called Casa Laurisilva in March 2023. It was a huge disappointment, here's why: When we went into the property, the whole place smelt of damp. We had to air it out every day for a few hours to stop the smell. We found black mould on the tiles around the bath and on the shower curtain, which looked like it had been like that for years. The whole property was dirty, there were cob webs and dead insects in the corners and under the tables. The bathroom and kitchen looked like it hadn't been wiped down in a long time, the floor looked like it hadn't been vacuumed or mopped in a long time either. The damp problem was so bad in the bathroom, that the door had expanded and wouldn't fit in the frame. The door couldn't be closed or locked. The washing machine was dirty and had black mould in the seal. There were some smaller issues with the property as well. All 3 mattresses were very firm, we found them uncomfortable. The kitchen wasn't well equipped and what was there, was dirty and needed cleaning. The property is located up quiet a steep single track road, getting in and out takes a bit of time. We raised the main issues with the host, he came around, we walked him through the problems. He told us that everything was fine and it's how it should be in a rural property. He only offered to send a cleaner around the next day. We booked for 9 days in total. We tried to come to an agreement with the host where if we left early, we could get a refund for the nights that we didn't stay. That was refused. We had to go through the Airbnb support system, we sent pictures to them and explained the problems. They agreed that the damp and black mould was a health issue and that we should leave. We left after 2 nights, Airbnb forced the host to refund us. This was a nightmare experience, it's the last thing that you want when you are on holiday. It was stressful for 2 days and it took hours to sort out. There are some positives about the property. It is in a very nice setting, it's quiet, the outside area and the garden is nice and it's a good location for Anaga, Santa Cruz and other towns.
