Finchley

I stayed here many times in the late 1950's when the property was owned by Col. Ian Hunter, my dad was a family friend. There was a billy cart in the wood shed and we used to run it down the hill out the front. Loved the big log fire place in the lounge room where we used the long toasting forks to toast bread and make sandwiches for dinner. Loved the verandah which ran along the side of the bedrooms, the cute doors for the bedrooms. Walks out the bush at the rear where there was a special tree and the stories about the bears ( I can remember the stories Mrs Bachelor told about the bears but we loved the stories. A very special place with magnificent family stories. I remember Ted Bachelor's Studibaker Golden Hawk. We used to pick up the house keys from the Real estate agent near the railways station.

Favourite house to get away and relax. Really quiet area walking distance from town and incredible scenic lookouts. I love that there is two main areas both with a fire place so you can mix it up if you’re staying for more then a few nights. It feels so much more really then your typical Airbnb with a massive kitchen so you can put on a spread for you family/mates and have a wine by the fire. Definitely recommend!

Wow ! All I needed was a cup of soup! Nature at its best ! We stayed extra two days to enjoy the place and its backyard. It’s a cottage! Beautiful for its age !
